Regardless, man you two, those sound nasty.

Meh.  We live and survive in our own ways.  Draignean survives via consuming as little sugar as possible.  I survive via a single dose of painkillers each day.  As long as they don't get worse, we're generally happy.

Anyways, back to the topic at hand!  I didn't mean to derail it.  I shall get back to reading so I can one day get caught up and comment on more recent events in the RTD.  I'm currently up to the group trying to find their ship in the murderous forest while Trol is going insane, hallucinating, and bleeding.

You know, now I feel bad about not remembering what you mean by a great bit. It's been so long since then.

I'm a slight bit past that.  They left Hensfield to find their ship, it started raining radioactive rain, and they got a bunch of Deadheads after them.  Oh, and like I said, Trol is going insane(Last check, 4 turns away from massive insanity,) hallucinating, and bleeding quite profusely.

Though, I did thoroughly enjoy the back and forth between the characters as they reached Hensfield.  Oh, and Dom knocking Teague/Trol off the wall with what was supposed to be a simple pistol whip in an attempt to get him sane again.  Had me laughing for a few minutes.

@Tarran(Yes, I know how to spell your name) I'm not slave labor.  Just trying to get the topic back on track.  I derailed it, so it's my job to get it back on the rails.

... Although, then again, considering what I do for a living, perhaps I am slave labor.

I don't feel so bad about the derail now.  Apparently shortly after Trol going insane, the topic derailed into a conversation about various injuries.  And quite truthfully, reading some of them is making me cringe.  Especially the ones about your eyes SeriousConcentrate.

I'm going to have nightmares about that now.

It's not so much that there might have been pain.  It's more just the idea of your eyes being damaged in any way from an external source.  I have a particularly vivid imagination when it comes to stuff like that, so...

Basically, imagine seeing visual images that rival Saw in terms of "OH MY *BLEEP* GOD(S)."

I can guarantee that if I had a character in this RTD, shell shock would be a common problem to deal with after killing something horribly.  It might be best to have that porn attack used on my head after battles to distract me long enough to drag me away from the scene, even if said attack would be *VERY* uncomfortable.  It's either that or you blindfold me.

You're not alone on vivid imagination. Whenever I see sharp things, first thing on my mind is "KEEP AWAY FROM VITAL PARTS AND DON'T GET CUT".

See, the trick is to remember that it's a game. Failing that, remember that it's not happening to you and it might not ever happen in real life. Still failing that, go watch Saw 100 times or something like that until you're resistant. The trick is to be apathetic and not care.

Yeah, see that's also a problem for me.  If not for the fact that my own father likes to joke around and jab extremely sharp knives towards me on occasion.  One of these days, he's gonna do it as a joke, and accidentally stab me.  And then I'll probably deck him and call 9-1-1.

I'd like to think that works, but seeing as how watching a movie like Saw has an adverse reaction to me, while Dead Space 1 & 2 have absolutely NO EFFECT ON ME for some reason, I doubt that'd work out too well.  And of course, there's the issue of getting me to watch Saw at all.  You'd have to tie me down to a chair, most probably kicking and screaming the entire time.

First of all, that's knife thing isn't cool. >.> Secondly, it's probably an 'obviously fake' vs 'sort of fake' reaction. Dead Space 1/2 are clearly just polygons and textures and it's easy for your subconscious to recognize that it isn't real and will never be. Saw, on the other hand, features real people getting maimed in various horrendous ways, and even though it's all staged, it looks real and can trick your mind.

That's my take on it, anyway. Most horror doesn't bother me at all. ^^^

Yeah, it's likely what it is.  Ah well, sooner or later I'll get over it probably.

As for the knife thing, yeah, I've repeatedly told my dad it's not cool.  He promised to stop doing it recently after I told him that if he did it again, I would actually hit him in self defense, as it was getting on my nerves and making me really edgy around him when he held a sharp knife.  Such is life with my family.

Anyways, BACK TO READING!  *Lifts the derailed train and puts it back on the tracks.  Then gets the Canadian Army of Beavers to start pushing it.*

EDIT:  Seems like someone should roll for me doing both of those actions, and then respond in an RTD-style way.  I fully expect to A)  Get a 1 on the train and not move it anywhere, and B)  Get a 1 on the commanding of an army of beavers, and get mauled by the beavers.
