Tarran was inches from snapping and running around the corner, dual wielding his Jormungandr and Ichneumon and firing until everything was dead.
Tarran runs back to Ash. "Those motherfuckers are being shitbags, ignoring our truce and are kidnapping James! Get Dom and Taric! We need to save him NOW!"
Run down to the start of the hallway and fire five bullets from my Jormungandr straight down the hall from around a corner to show my disapproval of their betrayal.
"We were already going to get them!, But if they have moved, Well we will keep getting them"
Chase while preparing to unleash hell
Without the training, equipment, or the sheer dumb luck to take down six Bio-armored nasties Tarran turns to run back to Ashley's group, cursing fluently all the while. He skidded back through the corridor at top limp, squeezing into the personnel wing and confronting Ashley's team just as they emerged from the bloody room.
"Those motherfuckers are being shitbags," he yelled at them as soon as he regained his breath,
"they're ignoring our truce and are kidnapping James! We need to save him NOW!" Ashley rolls her eyes in frustration at this newest acquisition to the mountain of crap she has to deal with.
"We were already going to get them," she growled at Tarran in frustration.
"But if they have moved, well, we will keep getting them," she finishes somewhat redundantly.
"How eloquently put my dear captain," Jordan says sardonically as he reflexively checks his gear again,
"please, dazzle us with more silvery verbage." Ashely slanted an eye at Jordan disapprovingly.
"Move out before I ram a talon up your ass." Harry, Jordan, Ashley, and Tarran ran back to the intersection as quickly as they could, Harry somewhat impaired by having to lug the lamp back through the bent door. Ashley's team stopped cold at the intersection, peering out into the shadowy edge created by Harry's lamp.
"Harry, Jordan, we need a new plan, the incendiaries will hurt Tarran's friend as well," Ashley says as their group surveyed the impenetrable blackness of the corridor.
Jordan frowns
"Well we could- [Improbable aiming skills 2: No effect] [Quickshot: 5-3+1 (can't see target, high target density)] [luck 4] (Immortal Sniper 2 Armor -6) Tarran interrupts Jordan by yelling a wordless battlecry and spraying iron down the corridor, striking sparks off the walls and possibly ticking something off a little.
Jordan looks at Tarran and sighs deeply.
"We could all fire our guns randomly to give away our position and let the enemy know we're in pursuit," he says scathingly.
"Now as I was saying, why bother? The bad guys are out of our way, we've got a free hall pass to get out of this dead end and do our goddamn jobs. I'm sure Jamie is a really nice guy and all, but I'm not exactly willing to let big and bad slide because of him." Harry frowned and remained silent, carefully stepping back under the cover of the intersection corner.
(Harry has stopped regenerating, Harry is now slightly damaged.)

Dominique WakemanEven though she knew he probably didn't notice, Dom couldn't help but apologize. "Sorry, Taric. Hand slipped." She continued to patch him up while he more or less ignored her. She wondered idly as she worked if that memory stick she had was compatible with the interface he was using.
You apologize to Taric as you tape down the dressing for the little cut you made on his neck, continuing with the rest of your work when you're sure it isn't going to pop off. [Int 4, Dex 6+1, Fight 3+1, Luck 3 (+4) Treatment 32/20] (Taric Hp +10) You keep your focus on your work and you're able to do it in record time, quick fingers applying paper thin numbing films to the worst of the bruises and electrical burns Taric received from the deadheads. All in all it's good work, and you barely harmed the patient while you were doing it.

Never one to stop when you're defeated by something as trivial as Technocrat personal high security you prepare to reengage. [Mechanical 3+1 Vs Firewall 2+2] The system and you duke it out over several rounds, your breakers bouncing of its adaptive systems while you're forced to counter the spikes it keeps using to narrow your lines of attack down.
[Mechanical 2+2 Vs 5+2] In the end the system's advantage of being faster than your fingers beats you, its software reconfiguring one of your own breakers to knock your offensive back down to square one.
Damnit.
Your neck also feels kind of funny.

James EvanWhether it wanted to fight him on her own or help him James didn't know, but either way he preferred it to the tentacles. He went through the wall.
With little else left in the way of options you grab the offered hand. The world lurches sideways and you feel oddly light as you dissociate momentarily, coming back into being in the middle of a maintenance shaft. You're still holding hands with your female shadow, though holding hands is too friendly a word for the death grip she has got on your hand. [Blight Melee 2 Vs Dodge 5] Her free hand comes up to slug you practically on reflex. Slow and half-hearted reflex that you're able to jump back out of the way of while disentangling your hand from hers.
"What the hell is wrong with you," you yell in surprise and frustration,
"you just saved my ass! Why are you still trying to kill me?" She takes a moment to look at you like you're a complete moron before replying.
"Because if you get destroyed then I get stuck down here. I don't want to live in a coma, I want to wake UP!" You're stuck in your head with something that is apparently capable of dissolving memories and devouring you whole as well as being seemingly invincible, and a shadow of Dominique's personality that wants to break your mental legs and leave you to keep the ol' heart and lungs moving. You aren't sure which sounds more fun.
Still, she doesn't seem quite as hostile as usual and the dark tendrils aren't in sight.
