I just thought of something, and now I'm thoroughly disappointed in myself. When Tarran brought up the Belligerent Sexual Tension trope, I should have noted his character's name here is Smith and started in with the Mr. and Mrs. Smith jokes about him and Dom. What a missed opportunity that was.

Sounds about right. Probably a bit of a 80/20 or 70/30 split between the two since there's a bit of overlap between those tropes. ^^;

Be careful though. Pulling a Leeroy Jenkins just about got me killed by Dwarmin, twice no less. (Once with the mines, once when we were actually fighting.) It did get Trol Grane killed. :\

I still don't know what possessed you to make a melee build in a guns heavy universe. Doesn't really make much sense to me. Do you even HAVE a melee weapon?

Actually melee is pretty good if you're strong and stealthy enough. No amount of bullet-deflecting, laser-resistant body armor will save you from a slit throat or a snapped neck. It's GETTING there that's the difficult part...

Stealth vs Observation with appropriate modifiers to both, I'm pretty sure. I think at one point I did snap a heavily-armored guy's neck a while back. :3

Stealth+Luck-encumbrance Vs Observe+Luck+/- Environmental modifier.

At least that's how it will work once Ch. 3 hits and I update everything.

This is pretty much how it works now, don't forget you also put a knife through a guy's eye socket in your intro with a stealth attack.

That too, but a good helmet will probably protect from that. I just meant one armor couldn't save you from. :3 Thanks for reminding me about that, I gotta go back and read the entire thread again soon.

Melee is the domain of special attacks, dislocations, breaks, strangling, gouging, and of course Gun Fu.

Powder's lack a of a dexterity score though really hurts him, if he can manage to close the distance, dodge incoming attacks, AND land a blow he's good.

It's just getting past the fact that he's a complete klutz.

PPE: In retrospect I don't like the addition of the luck modifier into the stealth rolls, replace with intuition on both counts.

You know me; I agree with that. I'm of the opinion luck should only be used, if ever, for things that either the players have no training in (like Dom trying to hack a computer by randomly entering passwords; she might get lucky and guess it eventually but Taric is more likely to actually get it right quickly since he's a hacker by trade) or no other way of rolling for (like whether or not a patrol is going through the area when they have no way of knowing what the enemy shifts are).
