Dominique Wakeman, Tarran SmithWith a sigh, Dom gave up on finding a light in her inventory. All she had was guns and a grenade. And a bit of food and the storage device with the romance novels on it, but neither were particularly pertinent at the moment. "I'm going to try opening these," she said, indicating the heavy sliding doors to the south. With a little bit of muscle I might be able to force 'em open.
"Taricus, get yourself a wife and leave us out of your porn dreams. Or I'll slap you with my shoulder plate again so hard you'll be in the hospital for a week. And I'll demote you to a rank lower than private."
Help Dom with the door.
James and Tarran step forwards to deal with the doors, [Str 5+1, 2] between the pair of them the door isn't a problem. It opens onto a short stairway, leading down to a pair of double doors. How many damn doors does one place need? [Observation 3] In Tarran's light you're able to read an engraved label above the door, "Mavaren Memorial Garden".
Well that doesn't sound so bad.

James Evan"I guess I could help." James ram-charged the sliding doors.
The others have already gotten those doors, Darn. Hey wait, at the bottom of the stairs, more doors! You happily charge and leap off the top step, pulling into a flying kick. [Strength 5+1 Vs Blockage 4] You hit the right door squarely and it blasts open, filling the air with the stench of ancient wet rot, a great change from the dry smell of the other bodies. [Will 4] You manage to do little more than gag when you realize that the resistance against the door was a very rotten body, a body that broke apart when you forced your way through, spreading decayed flesh and bone over a broad spread in front of the door.
[Tarran Will 3, Dom 3] The other two gag when the smell hits them, can't blame them. Tarran goes in, giving a pretty good feel for the size of the garden.
Which is huge. The shadows extend beyond the reach of Tarran's light, though the cieling isn't far overhead. Instead of metal the ground beneath your feet is... just ground. Rotted, stinking ground covered in a light coat of long dead weeds, but ground. You can see several trees that were once carefully pruned, now lack of light makes them little more than chunks of rotten wood. The light also reveals several other corpses, in much worse shape than the others, apparently there's enough moisture in the air for them to putrefy rather than mummify.

Taric SizierHead to the main group, acting as as the light source for the rear guard.
You go with the flow, following Tarran into the Gardens. [Will auto-success] Mmm, rotten bodies. You toe through the exploded remains of the corpse that was jamming the door, [Observation 4] the pieces crumble at the touch of your foot, but under a chunk of what used to be the man's torso you see a glint of something shiny. Leaning down you find a pad, [Mechanical 3+1] definitely drained of power, and probably needing a through cleaning before anyone else wants to touch it.

Ashley FeyAsh mutters to herself "Ok, dehydration, not too odd, but still not exactly encouraging" She turns to taricus, "Hey thanks for the light, but i think it would be prudent to stick with the others" Ashley Follows the main group, with her and her men acting as a rear guard, just in case something comes down that other corridor
You and your boys follow the tail of the group, making sure that nothing comes out of the darkness from behind. You hadn't expected this, stiff resistance and gunfighting yes, potential for the mission failing when you hit the rock a little to hard yes, dark and abandoned corridors filled with corpses was honestly not something you'd considered. [Luck 4] Nothing comes out of the darkness, and except for breathing and occasional talking there isn't a sound in the air.
