Dude. Leeches. Being worn like it's normal.

...

That's something I can't cope with. >.>

Yeah, wearing a leech wouldn't be so good for you...

Great for the leech though.

You don't need something like a leech being this bright, garish, eye-straining yellow. :-\

One question that came up in writing, you guys going to wash Trol off?

I'd rather not wash since I'd rather not have us be seen as Technocrats.

However, Serious kinda ruined that plan...

...So let's just say we're not washing just because we want to make a fashion statement. Of some kind. Somehow...

Oh wait, you are?

Meh, I kinda lost track in the last couple of pages of non-turn-updates.

All

Major Caine and her assistant pack up fast, removing the line from the radio and getting it back to Taric. In two minutes they're gone, leaving you to wait on an interrogation that decides whether you stay or get thrown out into the wilderness, where your only friend is a ship who has either become schizophrenic or is in danger itself. If you make it out of this you think you have a good chance of selling the story of your life as a soap opera.

Taric and James wash off in the showers, scraping off the grime. James particularly scrapes out the burned and crushed ant corpses from his armor and body. After he's clean Tarran treats the damage as best he can. [Auto-success] They've got all the time in world and the bites and chemical burns inflicted by the ants are treated as best the limited medical kit can. (James HP +10)

After a while everyone settles in for the long, resting as well as they are able. Trol continues to be unconscious and nobody has the heart to drag his smelly rear through the showers. As you rest you have the curious feeling a shifting tug, pushing you slightly of balance and making you feel... lighter.

(Dominique, Tarran, Taric, Trol Have Fully Regenerated. James has recovered 30+10 HP, Gravity reduced to 75% of normal, horizontal pull negligible.)

After several hours the door unbolts heavily, letting in a pair of colonists with rifles wearing what passes for body armor. "It's time, come on." [Failed roll not shown] Taric knees Trol in the ribs, [Trol End 2] he grunts and remains solidly unconscious. As the group leaves Dominique and Taric pick up Trol under the armpits, carrying him through the door after Tarran. Taric makes a point of stepping on Trol's dragging feet at every available opportunity. James brings up the rear of the party, followed by another four colonist guards that close in behind as you exit the drunk tank.

The first thing you notice about the outside is the light, the mats of fungus on the ceiling and on the building sized trees seem to have gone into overdrive. The multicolored light now shines brightly, brightly enough to see by easily and take in the full scope of your surroundings. The trees that were only shadowing shapes before are now awe inspiring towers of wood more than thirty stories tall, supporting a canopy that's last in... fog? Curious. The colony is larger than you would have expected for containing only 400 or so people, most of the land inside the wall seems to be given over to a central farming area however.

Your trip is fairly short, not giving you a lot of time to take in the sights. The building is another part of the original ship, squat, dull grey, and entirely metal. One of the colonists with you hauls the door open, ushering you through. Your escort then takes you through one open room, a left, and then into another room. This one has a man and a woman sitting behind a steel desk with a small terminal sitting on it, five chairs are on your side of the desk.

The woman addresses you first. "Good morning, please it'd be easier for both of us if you'd sit. Anything to drink?"

Both of the people behind the desk have a pulsing yellow leech the size of your middle finger attached to their neck. It is deeply unnerving.

(Trol, you need to find a new host in eight turns or your sanity rall will start taking massive penalties, just a reminder.)

That would make them very unhappy. The leeches are symbiotic and good.

I realize it sounds similar, I rolled a die on what the colonist leaders personality should be. Between these two sets of three personality options.

Amicable, Nice, Competent

Inimical, Harsh, Incompetent

"I'll stay standing, thanks," Dom said, staying close to the door and keeping Teague's arm over her shoulders, just in case they needed to run. As crazy as the guy was acting she wasn't going to leave him with these leech-wearing freaks. And if they start anything I'll drop one of these smoke grenades. She glanced over at Tarran, Taric, and James. Wish I'd thought to mention that to the guys beforehand.

Do you mean you rolled between in/amicable, nice/harsh, and in/competent, or that you rolled for an entire set of three at a time?

Rolled three times, much simpler.

The Woman is Amicable, Harsh, and Competent. A lethal combination.
