Dominique finished devouring her food. She had been ravenous! Now that was settled at least, and she figured now was a good time to contact the others. She moved to the intercom and pressed the button. "Yo, boss, Taric, Teague," she said. "There's a guy on board named James Evan. He says he was abducted by the technocrats kinda like we were, and he seems to be telling the truth so I let him out. Just thought I'd give you a heads up so you don't get itchy trigger fingers or anything." She turned to James. "Room are this way. I'm gonna go to mine and see what I can do about all this mess." She looked at her jumpsuit ruefully.

It cans be Dom's shower scene tiem nao? :p More seriously I probably am gonna do that and see if there's a change of clothes, I doubt she wants to walk around in a bloody uniform.

EDIT: And cover any cameras, the last thing we need is Hoke making comments. >.>

James Evan

"Whoa!" James said as the ship shook.  Guess she was telling the truth. James ate some of the food they had in the luxurious kitchen.

Huh, well she's right. No sense dying hungry. You dig into the rest of food and enjoy a relaxing massage from your chair.

Dominique Wakeman

Dominique finished devouring her food. She had been ravenous! Now that was settled at least, and she figured now was a good time to contact the others. She moved to the intercom and pressed the button. "Yo, boss, Taric, Teague," she said. "There's a guy on board named James Evan. You put your plate on the kitchen counter, and leave James to his food. Hunger has been taken care of, now for dying clean. You make your way through the ship and claim one of the rooms. They're fairly small but they've got all the little luxuries of life, including an attached shower. Thank God. You strip off your worn clothing and get into the shower, turning up the heat and blasting the water at close to maximum velocity. Steaming hot the water sluices away the grime and exhaustion, the burns are more than tender and after a couple minutes of letting the warmth soak in you switch to a slightly colder temperature.

You are enjoying a shower, you will be out next turn.

Trol Grane

Curse out the dude who hit us, then explore

Grumbling about the mild rattle that the ship sustained through dampeners you start to get out of your room and explore the ship, then you realize you're stark nekkid. You're old jumpsuit is stained in several places though it is relatively intact still, you rifle through cabinets and find a few that have clothes in them. You try a shirt and jacket on, and are surprised as the seams tighten slightly, pulling it into a fit as if it were made for you. You try on a pair of slacks as well and then slip your armor back on. One of the holographics shifts slightly until it's mirrored, and you pause to admire yourself.

---

Tarran Smith

"Shit shit shit shit!"

Retaliate at the fighter that shot at us. Shoot him down.

You swivel the heavy autocannon at the interceptor above [Marksman 4+1+1-2] the fighter tries to dart away but keep the heat on him, hammering him with a hailstorm of heavy rounds. (Interceptor shields -134) The interceptors shields hold for now, (pilot 3+1) the pilot though breaks off and lets the two other interceptors come in while he falls back to let his shields regenerate. Goddamn pilots with Goddamn brains in their Goddamn heads.

---

Taric Sizier

"Get us into that treeline now nat!" Continue hacking the missles.

You contine trying to break the encryption on any of the three incoming missile packs. [Hacking 3+1 Vs 4+2] You can't break through, damnit... Now it's all riding on the flares to keep 15 missiles from blowing holes in this ship. You brace yourself back against the co-pilot seat, just in case.

---

Virtue and Nathaniel Hoke, 1/2

Hoke forgoes evasive action for speed, burning sky as hard as you can for the edge of the forest. Taric fires another pack of clusterflarr at the incoming missiles, [Effectiveness 1] the flare is a dud though and fails to split. This... This could be bad.

---

Hostiles

The fifteen near missiles close in on the Virtue, the burning beams from the point defense take down four but that still leaves eleven warheads on intercept trajectory with the ship. [Impact location, 4, 4, 2, 3] Missiles impact the front VTOL engines, the primary engine, and the Rear VTOL engines. (Frontal VTOL shields -1131, Primary engine/reactor -434, Rear VTOL shields -411)

The two interceptors ride high, and both aiming for the heavily damaged frontal shields. [Marksman 2+1, 4+1] The first strikes only a glancing burn, the other though is spot on. (Frontal VTOL shields -139)

---

Virtue and Nathaniel Hoke 2/2

The wall of green is coming up very Very quickly, and soon the strange green and yellow foliage is all Taric can see out the front. Nathaniel counts off the seconds till impact for the crew's benefit. ""5... 4... 3... 2.. 1.. Brace!" The expensive and shiny ship thunders into the wall of plant, shields wobbling as the ship crashes through several meters of foliage before crashing through twisted and strangely luminescent branches. [Luck 3] The ships forward shielding to the cockpit and front engines suffers from being smashed through a wall trees at blazing speeds. (Frontal Shields -230, broken, RF VTOL engine Armor -132, LF VTOL engine armor -111, Cockpit shielding -498) The armor on the frontal shields shreds as the shields fold. The ship careens past the outer foliage, and into...

a great and surprisingly open space beneath the canopy, completely sealed off from the outside world until you rammed your way in. You don't have time to admire the strange and alien bio-luminescence of the place before Nathaniel has to start dodging branches bigger than the ship. [Nathaniel Pilot 4+1] He does so with alacrity and heads deeper into the forest. The interceptors follow, but the missiles may have some serious trouble.

Interceptors

[Pilot rolls 3+1, 1, 3] The first interceptor makes it through the gap left by Virtue, the second craft tries to follow and makes it partway before crashing into a tree bigger than it is, the third makes it through with its shields biting at the edge of the hole, they fold from the combined smash of tree limbs and Tarran's previous bout of machine gun fire.

---

Tarran Smith

Keep an eye out for any hostiles.

Damnit you've still got the pair of interceptors on you, well there's one cure for that. [Marksman 3+1 Vs Pilot 4] You can't pin the slippery bastard down and you only inflict minor damage to its shielding. (-23 Shields)

---

Taric Sizier

Try and get the shields recharged quickly.

Okay, this would be easier from engineering but you might be able to pull some power off the cockpit shields to reinforce them as well as diverting all of the power that gets tasked for shield regeneration to the frontal engines.  [Mechanical 4+1] (Cockpit shields -100, Frontal VTOL engines +75, all regeneration goes to forward shields.)

---

Dominique Wakeman

Chill out in the shower.

You continue to chill out in the shower, scrubbing out the more resistant grime as well as the blood that got in your hair. It occurs to you that Hoke is the ship and is probably on all the monitoring systems.  This is unfortunate seeing as there aren't any obvious cameras to throw a towel over.

---

Trol Grane

Scowl at God for interrupting me and go explore the ship.

Now that you're dressed you walk out the door, [Luck 2] and find yourself face to face with a stranger. [Intuition 5+1] Well if he hasn't been shot yet he's probably good. You grunt at him dismissively and continue forwards. You explore the kitchen, it features a pantry full of food and a pair of empty plates, you go into the lounge, it features a half dozen small scurrying robots the size of your fist which are now busy cleaning up the couch where Dom laid on it. You go into the cockpit, it features many tempting holographic panels. [Sanity 4] You manage to override the part of the brain which scream at you to press them all. You turn on your heel and walk back through the ship [Luck 2] you trip in the lounge and find a floor, it features your face and a small robot which is now busy probing at you to see if you need cleaning.

---

James Evan

James finished. That... Was quite good. He decided to explore the ship, hoping that that woman's warning meant that they wouldn't shoot him....

You leave the dining room and go take a look at the rest of the ship, the lounge is nice with several small cleaning bots running around and cleaning up what looks like blood. Well considering what Dominique looked like you would guess that's from the rest of the group. Or whoever owned this ship first. The pilot sounded like he was going to be kinda busy so you stay out of the cockpit. As you go through the corridor that leads out into the personal quarters one of the doors opens and large man steps out. Compared to what Dom looked like he's startlingly clean and he wears a pristine set of Technocracy military dress under his armor, which is also pristine surprisingly. He looks at you once and grunts, then heads forward through the ship. You've already seen medical, and the gunner sounded pretty damn busy too, so your journey takes you to engineering. Compared to the rest of the place it's horrible, meaning it only resembles a four star hotel room. There's nobody in here and it's paneled floor to ceiling in holographics, readouts on shield integrity, reactor temperature, radiation control, power distribution, engine cooling, engine efficiency, and a dozen more things. Huh.

You keep your hands in your pockets.

---

Hostiles

The missiles lose your signal through the radiation eating trees and default to following their previous course until they can pick up on your signal. [Luck 2] Multiple explosions sear the trees as the missiles run into the treeline and the branches that the interceptors and Virtue are dodging through. Only three of the remaining missiles manage to lock back onto the ship. As they converge the point defense system promptly blows them out of the air.

The two remaining interceptors hesitate, [Int 6] then break off back to the breach. With no comms line to the cruiser and no chance of reinforcements they pull back, they aren't morons after all and they can't take down the larger vessel without support.

---

Jordan Yule

"You... lost them. Considering that we just turned a facility that is more expensive than the combined value of everyone in this room into vapor I would appreciate an explanation of why you are unable to find one ship." Yule was getting a headache from the sheer incompetence that let the ship flee with only cursory damage.
The man reporting licked his lips nervously, the Grand-Arbiter had something of a reputation. "Their pilot is exceptional, he managed to evade the beams from the bombardment on the facility. Then their gunner and EW specialist were able to delay our assault long enough to get under cover of this moon's forest. When terraforming this world the trees developed to consume a large portion of radiation from Eridani as well as sunlight, in essence we are unable to get a signal or a sweep through. While they're under the trees they might as well be on the other side of the planet."
"So, you're telling me that a single ship evaded on orbital assault, more than thirty StG missiles, four interceptors, and are now hiding under the trees. Oh yes, and they did this in my ship?" Jordan put special emphasis on those last words, he'd liked that ship and had been disappointed when he'd been forced to leave it behind. Having it stolen by rebels hardly seemed a fitting end for her.
"Er, yes sir, that is the case. The interceptors are returning now, only two of the four are reporting back."
Deep smooth breaths Jordan, don't rip his lungs open, you'd just have to get somebody to clean it up. "Contact Councilor Narroh, ask him to bring us a pair of Sword destroyers and a full cross of arbiters. Meanwhile send shuttles to every colony they could conceivable get to while remaining under cover, notify every colony that we can get a signal to now, give them the specs of the ship down to the last detail and tell them be alert for strangers among the colonies, hold all inter-colony transfers."
"Sir, this will take time, I-"
"Everything takes time, for this you have four hours. Or you don't have any time at all. Move."

---

Nathaniel Hoke

"Holy Shit, we're clear. If y'all don't mind I'm going to slow down now so I don't crash and kill us all. I'm going to take us further in, just in case those interceptors come back with help. Anybody have a plan beyond steal the pretty pretty ship and hide in the woods?

"Didn't think we'd get through that. What'll the rats do now that they know that we have this ship?"

Nathaniel's answer is as immediate as it is sarcastic. "Call our parents and tell them we've been naughty? We just stole Technocrat tech, they'll kill us and recover it, or destroy it and kill us in the process, or if we're lucky they'll take us alive, recover this ship, wipe me and torture you until you publicly confess that the unchained are all satanistic baby eaters who want to rape everyone's underage daughter. The usual."
