Define "nature of a man", then we'll talk. Too broad for it to really count for anything right now.

It's just a fancy way of saying "People never change." I just like this quote better, and it relates to a given suggestion.

But people mature (and therefore change) over time, and that's not exactly changing the nature of yourself.

Yes, they change from "Alive" to very briefly being "Crispy", and then change to being "Dead".

Well that clears that one up, let us move on!

I think a person can only 'change', as such, if they themselves want to do so, if we're talking about going from 'bad' to 'good'.

Going from 'good' to 'bad' can probably be caused by various forms of trauma, and such, as well as choice.

The nature of a man can change, but the nature of man(-kind) cannot.
...I am a bit unsure which one the vote is about.

You'd have to ask one important question first.
"What is a man?" *throws wineglass*

And now I'm out of here before I get shot.

Quote
"If there is anything I have learned in my travels across the Planes, it is that many things may change the nature of a man. Whether regret, or love, or revenge or fear - whatever you believe can change the nature of a man, can. I’ve seen belief move cities, make men stave off death, and turn an evil hag's heart half-circle. This entire Fortress has been constructed from belief. Belief damned a woman, whose heart clung to the hope that another loved her when he did not. Once, it made a man seek immortality and achieve it. And it has made a posturing spirit think it is something more than a part of me". - The Nameless One

Need a "Best RPG game ever" option.

(for the record, after having that conversation, you can take the option to unmake yourself -and by extension, the Trascendent One, which in truth is part of you- by sheer force of will. That's how cool it is)

What do you mean mankind can't change? You can see a large group of people's ideas change widely within a lifetime, so what keeps the majority of man the way they are? You could argue that it is ignorance -- ignorance that is slowly (yet surely) being diminished. You could argue that it is the human brain -- yeah, a brain that was formed, and still is being shaped by evolution.

Even if you do believe there is a nature of mankind, the notion that it will never change is absolutely ridiculous.

I'd explain my meaning, but every time I try to I feel like I run out of words. I'm not as good as expressing myself as I once was, and I'd rather just let it slide with this post than do it poorly and rambly. I hope you understand.

I can appreciate that. Still, I'd like to hear more about your view.
