War in the Pacific: Admirals edition Bay12LP

Ok this will be a minor(slow) but interesting LP :D

People can register as members of the IJN(Imperial Japanese Navy) as either:

Ship commander
Plane commander
Pilot
31st army commander/regiment commanders(Artillery, armored, infantry, engineers, navalguns)

There are more possibilities.

It's a 3 month scenario of one day turns. It's basicly going to culminate in a big carrier battle.
In reality the IJN got slaughtered and lost 3 carriers and 600 planes, effectivly crippling the IJN's offensive ability for the rest of the war.

22nd May 1944 - 5th Aug 1944

I will try and keep track of everyone, although sometimes people will be eliminated in things like CAP patrols or a failed landing and may fall off the radar :( But i'll do my best!

There are a hell of alot of options, if anyone wants more detail on what planes/ships/positions their are please ask :D

Sure, I'm currently working on getting a list. The save file viewer is playing up.

I find this game very interesting to watch, but it's too expensive to play!

If I could claim a ship captain as well (Carrier?) that would be swell!

Noted, and yes it is god damned expensive! It's for the hardcore only. It models the war down to single day turns and individual pilots! (It's both a pain and a joy  :P)

I'm going to be a IJN fighter pilot :D
You two are:
CV Zuikaku - Knave
BB Yamato - Zrk

Zuikaku is my favorite carrier and Yamato was the biggest BB (Ever?). It has the biggest main guns possible. *Editor says these are 6x 460mm guns, 6x155mm, 4x 127mm AA guns 8x25mm AA guns.

Awesome! Can't wait for this to start.

I will now google as much info on my carrier as possible and try not to be sad when it inevitably ends up at the bottom of the Pacific! :'(

Zuikaku sinking at the Battle of Leyte Gulf (Phillipines) 1944. Thats the sailors standing at attention on the side of the carrier after it got hit, listing like 60 degrees or something. My favorite picture of the war, it epitomizes the Japanese view on the war.

Sadly I dont forsee Yamato providing anything but AA support for the Carrier group. If I can I will get Yamato to Saipan when the inevitable US landings take place. However she would probably not come back from such a mission. Way too many Yanks about ;)
This was how Yamato was sunk in reality. I think it was at Leyte Gulf too Okinawa, Yamato was sent on a suicide mission to try and attack the American carriers, she was spotted and sunk before getting anywhere near.

Just make sure I go out the true Japanese way: Screaming defiance into the wind as America builds ships faster than I can shoot them...
