Am currently 20, but will be turning 21 before the end of the month, so I put myself in the 21-25 range. Right now I'm in University going for an Earth Science degree (think Geology, Geography, Geomatics, Geo[whatever]). Dwarf Fortress didn't hurt in my making that choice. My Dad's far more of a nerd than I am, but I learned most of my nerd-fu on my own.

First consoles were the NES/Colecovision that he had from when he was young. Who else remembers the mario bros / duck hunt split cartridge? A few summers ago I played part of the first Duke Nukem (when he wore a pink vest) on a full-tower PC that actually had a turbo button. After some time reading game magazines I actually cared more about learning about the industry and developers than about playing the games themselves. Regarding computers, I messed around with booting multiple operating systems on my desktop, but once I moved and got myself a laptop, I've been trying hard not to break it since replacing the firmware for all this proprietary hardware would be a pain in the neck.

Edit: second early console was a colecovision, not an atari.

16? 'cause that's pretty much what i'm doing... Except that I hate it people call the high school shitty. I find that it's a vary hard thing to judge something when you've only ever experienced one of that thing.

Close(14). Also, trust me when I tell you the school is bad. About sixty percent (this is prolly exaggerated from personal experience) of the pop is involved with drugs, gangs, etc., at least one of the teachers is clinically insane, another 3 are confessed drug addicts.
