That reminds me- you've got a decent-sized army (complete with mint catapult!), and the dark elves aren't buying mercenaries anymore. What's stopping you from finally crushing them once and for all?

The kitchenette mold free, you move on to the pantry. it's nasty in there. The bacon is grazing on the lettuce. The ham is having an illicit affair with the prime rib, The potatoes see all, know all. A rat in boxer shorts smoking a foul smelling cigar is banging on a cabinet shouting about rent money.

I'd rather wait until they attack me, then bribe people into helping me to utterly annihilate them in an immediate counter-attack.

It's cheaper that way.

And if he fails to destroy them (including their entire city) in a single turn they will proceed to hire my army back as mercenaries, and nurir would have to deal with my entire army as well as the tattered remnants of the dark elf army.

And a major event like a demonic invasion would be nice, would give my military something to do.

Because the solution to not being able to control your dakka is MOAR DAKKA.

That's it. We've finally crossed over and become the nation of Da Orky Boyz.

OOH! WANT ISLAND! I assume it gives storm-related magic resources?

You didn't update my sky knights, nor their L2 stat block. Do the benefits from my healer's hall apply to mercenaries? Do you want us to post/work on age end reports early if we've got/think we've got most of them? Also, just to double-check, none of my three units found beasts?

That would be my assumption, if I didn't already know the answer.

Oops, yes, and sure, if you'd like the feedback.
(I also tweaked the gargoyle's HP; I applied hollow bones wrong.)

IronyOwl: Those sea monsters annoyed me. I must strike at their nest before any shipping in the area may exist. I want the New Dawn to remain in your city this turn for repairs. Are you willing to accept a two-three turn delay in the exploration contracts for me to clear the monsters out, in exchange for you getting the rights to the storm island and free single-turn use of a cog to transport settlers to it?

EDIT: I really should start writing agreements down. If I just offered you what I'd already offered you, I'll extend the offer to the next island my mercenary explorers find that you want to absolutely claim.

I'll need four iron ore smelted into iron ingots. What are you charging?

You say that like you don't want me outbidding them. The heavy chest of gold is mightier then the sword.

Without having navigation himself, he wouldn't be able to ship stuff back and forth from the island.

Er, was that part of your agreement one way or the other?

But I do have navigation now. :D

And yeah, that's the last of my techs. I was kind of worried the age would end before I got them all.

Yes, I believe so. Not sure IronyOwl explicitly agreed to it, but he never said "No, map on your own time."

It doesn't matter much, actually. Next age I'm going to dump the separate maps thing. With the map trading going on, it's just more trouble than it's worth.

Alright, so. Yes, I reluctantly agreed to shared maps from the mercenaries.

Our agreements on who would get what islands was less clear, but I believe the general idea was that I got all the islands near me, and then we'd discuss the specifics of anything that wasn't obviously on my doorstep. I'd consider the storm island to qualify, as it's both quite a bit closer to me than you, and just off the coast from my longterm trading partners and esteemed friends. If not, I'd at the very least want all currently discovered islands on the table.

I don't remember exactly what the deal with the cog was. I remember it was involved in at least some agreements, but I forget if it was one-use, available for hire, or whether it made it into the final deal. In any case, I should have deep-sea capable vessels of my own shortly (and unfortunately, I'm not yet ready to colonize), so it'd be more convenience than an important issue anyway.

I'd rather the New Dawn continue exploring, as my healer's hall should ensure that it recovers health at a decent rate. Sea terrors don't seem that common, and timeliness was one of your selling points.

As for the sea serpents, what's the purpose of the delay? Building warships, or...? I might have a few well-armed galleys of my own in a bit, and I'd certainly be willing to assist if I could attempt to capture some.

Ingots. Hrm. Kind of drawing a blank at the moment, but I'm sure I'll think of something.

It definitely is closer to you then to me, but then, everything my mercenary explorers find will be. Still, I respect your claim to it.

Very well. The New Dawn continues exploring, but only after receiving my immediate shipment of upgraded equipment.

This turn would have been for building the second ship and repairing the New Dawn. Turn 2 would be clearing the sea monster lair. Turn three would be recovery, if needed.

There's a lair of sea monsters just south of the storm island. It needs to die at some point, but I suppose that can be delayed until we both have more naval forces. If you successfully capture some, I want my own population of slightly tame sea monsters.

It was a Life Flower for 3 last time. Will a Life Flower + some other gem for 6 work this turn? I need at least three, but would really like to have extras on hand.

Doesn't upgrading take a turn?

Alright, then we'll delay for now.

This should work nicely. I would like to see what I can make out of them first, and I don't think I want more sky diamonds, though.

Say... are custom magic resources limited to equipment?

Also, my speaking stones aren't listed.

EDIT: Also, fluff-wise, would something involving life flowers be more likely to be something like the flower on a chain, or a potion made out of the petals?

I was just thinking about that actually. I'll allow it, but not nearly as often. Might ask everyone to suggest a custom building for age 5.

Potions, or, like, an ingredient in a lacquer or something.
