IronyOwl: I changed my mind, and am now willing to trade complete maps.

Nirur, I think I will begin to explore to your capital, and when I get to your capital I will send you the mapping information to one of my colonies (or if you prefer you can explore to my ironcrag cliffs (my nearest colony to you) yourself), sound ok?
Alright. I have a spare ship to send towards your colony this turn.

Vanigo: If IronyOwl and myself trade maps, do we get to do real trading this turn or the next?

Lemon10: while I was writing up my turn, I remembered that the trade route to Ironcrag Cliffs would involve sailing past a city of evil dark elves who loath me.

Since I can't be bothered to hurl magic gems at them with catapults until they like me, I think we'll need to wait until you have sailing to trade.

Or you could build a single square of road to connect the two river systems.

Edit: No, wait, you won't even need to do that. Your new colony will do the job, since that NPC settlement is there.

I've had sailing for a long time already(I simply haven't built a galley since it wouldn't help me much), once I explore to one of your colonies/capital  we could trade in 2 turns if I explore to your capital, or in 1 turn if I explore to your lifeflower colony (depending on if you will let me explore to it).

Because the solution to not being able to control your dakka is MOAR DAKKA.

That's it. We've finally crossed over and become the nation of Da Orky Boyz.

Right, been distracted.

Nirur, I'd like to confirm my desire to trade maps. It's extremely likely I'll be building a road to Blessed Coast this turn, though.

The kitchenette mold free, you move on to the pantry. it's nasty in there. The bacon is grazing on the lettuce. The ham is having an illicit affair with the prime rib, The potatoes see all, know all. A rat in boxer shorts smoking a foul smelling cigar is banging on a cabinet shouting about rent money.

It's not in your list of researched techs, which is all I was checking.

Hmm.
Fine, you may explore to my life flower colony.

Excellent, and I don't see why, but alright I guess.

Honestly? I like roads and am out of building materials to jigger my construction labor so as to not waste any.

Vanigo, I am missing sailing, infustion, and mechanics from my researched tech list.
Ok, ill explore to you this turn, then send you the path to my colony next turn.
EDIT:Nirur, how much money is 1 labor worth to you?

I can't decide on a general price, you'll have to make a specific offer.

After thinking about it vanigo, could i move my current windmills from tiles 11,5,17 -> tiles 9,4,6. since i obviously didn't know the rule about no windmills+watermills, and I don't feel like having to put 12 labor into rebuilding them on different tiles.

Also, mini-bump

I too support Lemon10's proposal. The lack of knowledge over whether or not Xeniice's new bestest buddy(s) and/or trading partner(s) consider remaining Xeniice's bestest buddy(s) and/or trading partner(s) to be more strategically sound then repeatedly sticking Xeniician citizenry with many shivs is either killing me, or prolonging gnomish life. Either way, I consider diplomatic ignorance to be a problem that may only truly be solved with time and more turns.

The only partial alternative method for determining whether or not repeatedly being stuck with multiple shivs is in the Xeniician citizenry's near future is generally unreliable, but is possibly worth trying: Giving away a 'diplomatic insult' casus belli.

... The food of Ljus Faller is of sufficiently low quality that a dwarf would outright refuse to eat it if he lay starving in a dungeon cell for two weeks, with only a slow drip of water and a patch of lichen for sustenance.  :P

Tl;dr: I generally prefer shivs when they remain safely outside of my body, and tend to see them everywhere. EVERYWHERE! (Exactly why Vanigo might wish to shiv me is not something I am prepared to discuss at the present time.)

Yay, shivs! :D

But yes, these next few turns should prove very interesting politically.
