... And I researched Metallurgy last turn. How did I discover it twice? And how did I build a smelter last turn if I researched it this turn, instead of Spirit-calling?
Oops, fixed.
Or a copy paste error, considering I saw one of those tiles last turn without that little mark.
That's because it wasn't there last turn; I surveyed it this turn. You can check my maps this turn and last to see.
This. Not that it'll necessarily appear immediately in situations like this; it depends on when I copy/paste resources from the global map to yours. Anything you map yourself will show up, but someone whose turn I do after yours? That's just something I just don't care enough to fix.
I told my catapult crew and spearmen to explore north of Koppar Steg. I understand if the catapult crew weren't able to explore because of their .5 speed, but that isn't really the case with my spearmen.
Oh, so you did. I had to look over that list three times before I saw it. Yeah, catapults can't explore, but the spearmen can. I don't want to upload the image again, though... there's nothing surprising there.

You know, Nirur Torir, the humans haven't actually admitted that they have any sky diamonds to you yet.

I realize that, but my unit sent there last turn weren't mentioned, while the tribe I didn't send anyone to was. I wanted to be clear.

...In retrospect, civilians were probably sent to discuss that particular trade. I should give them all spears and hire them to explore or something, but that'd be bad for both my treasury and morale.

Did my explorers figure out what the newly discovered tribe wants to trade?

I'll fix that, Irony.
Did my explorers figure out what the newly discovered tribe wants to trade?
Nope.
Edit: Oh, wait, the newly discovered one. They don't have much, but they do tell you about some amphibious guys southeast of them that love trading.

Would me and nurir be able to trade at a point between our two cities (probably somewhere around where the human town is)?
If so, Nirur, would you be interested in a trade of 1 sun amber for 1 springwater pearl per turn?

Vanigo, would I be able to give a watchward to a friendly city (eg. dark elf city, human town) and use it to alert me (and the city) of hostile troop movements?
Another question about watchwards, how exactly do they work? Because if they work like I think they do, then they should be able to detect any units in unexplored territory, and possibly even explore the territory for me.

EDIT: it says flaming weapons require ember rubies, is it fair to assume that sun amber would work as well?
EDITEDIT:While i'm asking about trade nurir, is there anything that you would be willing to trade for a unit of spice per turn (since once i get my windmill up i will be getting a spare one) ?

(You already have sanitation. You got it from a random event last turn. Also, I only count 52 food; I don't know where you think you're getting 57. In fact, your resource estimates are wrong pretty much across the board.)

Right, sorry. I'll recalk those from the start. My next turn might take a bit though. Classes are starting to hand out exams.

So, it seems like a lot of independent villages and such respond to different players differently. Is that the case or just a few examples of different enough circumstances? If it is, is there anything in particular that affects/determines who's friendly/not so friendly/distrustful of who?

Ahra, I was glancing at your turn and noticed a couple issues. The only actual problem is that you haven't got any bronze, so you can't make more heavy metal armor without smelting it first. But, I was wondering about some things.

First, why are all your guys level 1? They haven't been doing anything except standing guard, you probably should have trained them when there was nothing better for them to be doing.

Second, shouldn't you build a military school so you can raise two units at once? You're drowning in wood, leather, and money, so with a military school you could raise a pair of fire caste in crappy gear every turn and overwhelm the orcs with sheer numbers.

I mean, I was going to suggest you use owlbears because they're 7A/4D/7H for only 2 labor, 3 food, and 1 money (which you're drowning in), when I realized your crappy regular guys are 7A/4D/14H for 2 labor, 1 wood (which you're drowning in) and 1 leather (which you're also drowning in). At that rate, you don't even need to equip them with shields or train them to L2; you can just swarm the orcs with pointy sticks. Some bronze-clad units would be nice for support, sure, but at 2 labor and nothing else your guys are horrifyingly strong for their cost.

Third, you shouldn't let your population stagnate. I realize right this moment you're worried about food and can't build more colonies because the orcs might get them, but you've got some food to spare and getting more colonies is pretty vital. Even if you haven't got the troops to defend it yet, you should at least train the settlers so your population can keep growing.

EDIT: Actually, I just realized something else. Those things on your hills are regular improved farms, not both pastures and farms or something. You've got some of your guys trying to build an improved farm where there already is one.

Also, you've got a jeweler's workshop. That turns one unit of appropriate materials into jewelry per turn for free; you don't need to spend labor doing it unless you want to store some extra.

The sky diamond village hates me because of dark elven lies and slander. I can't even annex them, because that would just be proving the dark elves right (plus be a shameless use of meta and greatly annoy Lemon10.)

If so, Nirur, would you be interested in a trade of 1 sun amber for 1 springwater pearl per turn?

Alright, I think a 1:1 trade for magic resources is fair, and I'm not doing a whole lot else with the pearls right now.

For spice ... How about 3:1 for magic resources (Springwater Pearls or Life Flowers, which I'll start a colony for if you're interested)? I could also go for 1:2 for food.

I'll gladly give my earth jade +2 food each (or Life Flowers) for Sky Diamonds.

Actually, no. One of you would need to know a route to the other's city, and right now neither of you has explored much past the dark elven city.

Watchwards give you advance warning of enemy units moving within two squares of their location, which gives your garrison units a chance to move to intercept them. Units can intercept enemies within one square per point of movement they have, or two if they move along roads. You get warnings about enemies in unexplored territory, but you can't send units there.
And yeah, you could trade watchwards to NPCs. You wouldn't necessarily still hear about alarms from them, though.

He can't train them and raise a new unit in the same turn without a military school, although he certainly should be raising a unit this turn. The rest of it, yeah, he's being stupid. And he's not using all his labor, either. And he should really be spending some of his money on labor. Looks like, in his rush to get a turn up within 4 hours, he just copied and pasted his last turn unchanged except for reequipping his units instead of raising a new one.

Rereading the past few turns since you found it, I don't see anywhere that it says that's why they hate you, that they actually hate you (rather then just distrusting you). or that they even know who the dark elves are.
Invading the sky diamond village wouldn't really annoy me, but it would lead to two front war (since the Hinor are willing to fight to A) help the humans and more importantly B) keep their trade route open) that would be exceedingly hard for you to win (since I'm fairly sure i could get the dark elves to work with me to pressure you in your city and colonies), while I would put my force to bear on human village free again and exploring to find your cities and colonies.
If so, Nirur, would you be interested in a trade of 1 sun amber for 1 springwater pearl per turn?

I am interested in Life flowers, but, am not sure if I am able to utilize them either, (I would think that life magic would allow me to, but am unsure).
That said, a colony there would probably be good since it would allow us to trade with each other easier (since I would only need to explore one tile), or you could make a colony somewhere else if you want to trade.

The 1:2 food seems reasonable for the spice.
Sky diamonds for earth jade +2 food seems reasonable (although I am not quite sure about trading them to you since they are extremely valuable to me).
The sun amber for spring pearls sounds good, although it will only last two or three turns at the most (once I get some spring pearls stocked up I don't think I will need any more of them.
