Oh, I missed the lack of tin ... And iron.

Probably two with heavy armor and bronze weapons, then, to form a solid meatshield for your future magical troops to fight behind. I don't think shields would be worth sacrificing weapons for, and +16 HP over two units is probably worth more then +1 defense for one.

Personally i think waiting two turns for two more bronze and getting shields for the +3 defense (assuming they are using a single handed weapon) would be worth it, especially since you want them to be as tanky as possible so that you can have some more powerful attack troops in back.
Yeah, genocide is pretty uniformly evil (even if they are generic evil dark elves), pretty much no matter why you are doing it.

Attacking them for the air crystals is fine though, and would have been better if you hadn't attacked them even when they gave you one in tribute.
They didn't. They gave me Earth Jade while my troops were holding up Sky Diamonds as a demonstration of what they wanted. Sky Diamonds aren't Earth Jade..
Meh, didn't really notice that, thought they just didn't give you quite as much money as you asked for.

And I meant utterly annihilate them as a power, not genocide. Many would have survived by fleeing, or as slaves, or as laborers in the gnome-occupied city,
Hm... suppose your right, although the definition of genocide gets a bit tricky when people are different races.

Because the solution to not being able to control your dakka is MOAR DAKKA.

That's it. We've finally crossed over and become the nation of Da Orky Boyz.

Yeah, go with heavy armor and no shields. Also consider some cannon fodder support, both in terms or archers/mages and just raw underequipped mook legions.

Random event: Economic boom!
    +1 prosperity for 3 turns!

(You don't have an economic boom going on. It looks to me like your prosperity is only 25. Sorcerors are 1 labor, not 2. I'll give you another unit's worth.)
Yes, i do.

Also, you cut off the bottom of my map

Oh, so you do. As for the map, I'm not really sure how that happened, but nothing over there changed, so...

Was my ambassador executed?

I shall celebrate my iron colony with ice cream.

Edit: Are adjacent cities/colonies automatically connected by roads, or do I need to build one?

Late in one year, an envoy from Xeniice shows up at Rensraad, and is met with undisguised hostility. He has a rather hard time of it.
Dunno why it was in my turn summary instead of yours though...

Incidentally, it says I got an economic boom but doesn't list any usual effects. Did something maybe get crossed somewhere?

Probably because he didn't really check back to see how he was doing, whereas you've got contacts within the city.

Nah, I just figured everyone knows what an economic boom does by now.

Or because I forgot to mention that part.

Do you have a preferred format for ordering around larger militaries? Every way I try seems clunky.

Bump. While in and of itself, two days isn't very long, and for most forum games would be completely unremarkable (and indeed shorter then most turns), generally you update faster then that, and since both of the previous updates took quite a while, I figured that bumping when that much time hadn't passed was a good idea so that it doesn't end up taking 4 days like last time.

Well, he did say he was having a hard time getting into the swing of it again. If he needs a bit more time to get his head in the game I don't mind... as long as the game doesn't die, at least.
