Time to start.
Its on.

[....] there was now a beacon of hope for all gnomes, The Farlands.
Slander! My gnomes have never even heard of you. We should quite probably enslave you for your insolence.  :P
I suddenly like your gnomes. Wanna go halves on enslaving the elves? :P
Sounds great. I don't think the dark elven slave labor will last me long enough, and I might be able to get some sort of !!Fun!! bonus for uniting dark elves and normal elves.

I have only now decided that that's what I plan to do to the dark elves. What are the slavery mechanics?

Dunno. I figure it'll give you labor but decrease prosperity, and it'll definitely require special technology if you want to bring slaves in en masse. Occupying a city will be simpler, but smaller cities may still be reduced to colonies, especially if you don't have the technology for extra cities.

City Name: Helms Deep
Race: Gnomes
The Gnomes are a small race. Their average height is 3 Ft. They pray to the God Kain, Sheild for the Weak, and father of the Earth, and accept all other religions openly. They dream of one day controlling the sky with complex flying machines, and freeing al of their race from slavery. Since they were first discovered many other races have enslaved them, and used them to do all the work while they relaxed. The Farlands is the first place every to be home to the gnomes. Several years ago the gnomes there rebelled against the people who enslaved them. Their leader ,a gnome named Harticus, led the first attack on their masters. For six years the war raged, and Harticus lead his men into battle with him at the front of the army. Many battles were fought, many gnomes had died, but their oppressors were thrown from the lands, and the gnomes finnally gained a place to call home after many years of slavery there was now a beacon of hope for all gnomes, The Farlands. Thus a Kingdom arrised, and that was the start of the kingdom of The Gnomes of the Farlands. These gnomes are a proud, brave, and honest people who always have hope. They are great mechanics, and great farmers, but most of all they are a great race. These gnomes may  only rarely shpw magical talent, but they do not need it to be a strong race.
I'm just not comfortable with this whole 'former slaves' thing. The world isn't old enough for it. And you definitely need to account for the fact that there are other gnomes in the world who've never even heard of you. Drop the whole 'a beacon of hope for gnomes everywhere' thing.
And didn't I tell you not to tell me 'they are a great race'?

there most amazing creation was the Gnome Copter, a small one-man air-craft that is powered by the pilot.
NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO. And did I mention NO? We are in the late bronze age/early iron age. You're talking about fantasy-world high renaissance stuff.

They also learned from their old slave-owners how to build underground farms so they coould place them easier, and better protected underground.
Do not tell me "This is a tech my guys have". Tell me the general direction their technology moves in. Not magic, I got that much, but what do they do besides mechanics? And what did the humans do besides (apparently) building underground farms? (Hint: they did not build underground farms.)

If I might suggest, adwarf, I really think you're going about this the wrong way.

In particular, I think you might be having trouble because you copied your race from another game. I still strongly recommend not doing that anyway, but in this case there's a very concrete reason why that's not going to work very well. Simply put, the two games are different, and so what's needed for a workable faction is different. It's like trying to submit the same exact character sheet for two different RPGs. Some stuff might work, but some other stuff might be missing or wrong or get in the way.

And indeed, it really looks like that's what's happening here. You've got some stuff ("proud, brave, honest, good farmers") that works, some stuff ("enslaved by a great nation, even though nobody's been around all that long") that doesn't, some stuff ("They worship Kain? Who's Kain? Why do they worship him?") that really needs to be explained better, and some stuff ("They've invented underground farms and flying machines") that's too specific or doesn't really work. All of this would probably be mostly fine (or irrelevant, like who EXACTLY Kain is) in Fiefdoms at War, because the inner workings of your society aren't really all that important. But the civs here work a lot differently, and I'm not sure you're really grasping that.

My advice, then, is to start from scratch. Even if you're certain you want most of the details to be the same, you should really rewrite them from a more "this is what my civ is generally like" perspective, rather than the more "this is what my faction is and has accomplished" theme you seem to be going with. Example spoilered below, because I've been long-winded enough as is.

Spoiler: Example (click to show/hide)

If anyone has a more concise way of saying this, speak up. :-\

Oh dear. Yeah, I've been assuming greed and markets stacked multiplicatively for as long as it's been relevant, meaning all of Age 3. I've known (assumed) the tech bonus wasn't affected by anything, though; that's why I listed it as "X base; Y total, Z bonus," with "total" meaning "total tax money." Apologies if that was confusing.

I did indeed forget the enchanter's shop money, to go along with forgetting I didn't actually have it yet, I guess.

Nah, that part was clear enough, I just wanted to be explicit about it.
Anyway, it's pretty early in age 3, so it looks like you were only down 4 money.

Sounds good, think that means i should build a road.
I got access to research Mind Magic this age, but I don't have Life magic, which is a prerequisite to research Mind magic

(I assume you wanted to build the school out of wood. Please specify this in the future. Also, do you realize that working tile 6 did you no good at all? Unless you really needed that wool for something, anyway.)

Ok, will specify in the future. And considering that I'm eating all the food I gather in your post, I question your statement about my people not needing enough food not to starve. Am I missing something?

I think he means because you got 2 Food from it, instead of the 3 you could have gotten from one of your unimproved plains. Which, incidentally, would have been enough to bump your prosperity up by one, increasing your population.
