Good morning, Bay12 (3.45am)
« on: February 06, 2011, 10:50:40 pm »

I usually go to bed between 2-4am.

I usually wake up at 11am-1pm.

If I try to go to sleep before 2am, I wind up lieing there, till 2am!

I went to bed at 11pm, I lied there till about 1am. I woke up every god-knows-how-many-times, drifting in and out of conciousness. I've woken up at 3.45, dry as a bone and dandy as a fresh spring root. I adapted to the light in about 20 seconds (as opposed to the usual 10 minutes), and I'm thinking as straight as a dwarven tunnel.

Sounds like a slight case of insomnia. So, how the devil are you?

Not to sound like an ass, but going to bed at 2am is really pretty early post-high school. And you average nine hours a night, which is more than the recommended eight hours, which is more than people need anyhow. No surprise you only slept for two hours and have trouble getting to sleep in general when you get that much, really.

I know, my sleeping habits are terrible.

But, even if a spend a few days getting up at 7 or 8am, I still won't be able to sleep till the 2am hour. Good job I'm unemployed, really, or I'd be in serious trouble!

Naps, eh? I'll give it a shot. Not usually my cup of tea, though, I get huge headaches when I wake up from one.

I've run out of stuff to do, and it is only 10. I am usually up until 2, so this is a bad thing.

2am to 7-8am is still pretty average, sorry. It's weird that regardless of your amount of sleep, 2am is when your sleep timer goes off, but it's not really insomnia. Good chance that well over half the forums (including myself) have way worse sleeping habits.

2 to 5:30 is my usual, with a full day of school and a part time job every day. I believe Itnetlolor does about an hour, and then seven jobs.

Aye, which is why I rarely complain about it, heh. It's just me and my bad timing, I say. Too many years of didgereedoo'ing the old blimer.

My sleep schedule is utterly fubar. I go to bed at 9am and wake up at anywhere between 8pm and 10pm. Tried to fix it before by staying up all day but then figured whats the point. Being up at night is good, there's nobody to bother you. The benefits of being an unemployed waste of space I suppose.

Having a full time job with fixed hours will force good sleeping habits on you, and quickly.  I went to sleep anywhere from 11pm to 4am before my first full time job.  Not anymore.

That having been said, the best way, I find, to keep from getting insomnia is:

a) go to sleep at about the same time each day
b) get enough hours of sleep every day
c) avoid soda late at night

It's not foolproof but I sleep well 90% of the time now, at least.

[boast]Well, actually, I only drink water![/boast]

But yeah. I'm looking forward to getting a job, I've been trying for about two years. The area is DEAD. And I'm unlucky :D.

So, I found one called being a Deckhand... <3

Sleep: between midnight and 4 (I can't pull all-nighters without being crazy)

Get up: between 5 and 8 AM

I do actually need 8 hours of sleep most nights to keep myself on an even keel.  I learn a lot better when I'm well-slept.

I can operate at full capacity on 3 hours of sleep as long as I only do it for one night before getting back to my usual "schedule."

On the other hand, I'm still pretty young... 21 years old, so my brain is still adjusting itself.  My sleep requirements have decreased by 3 hours over the past year, so I suspect they'll continue to go down over the next little bit.

Try Toony sleeping.

Sleep 3pm to 9pm.  Awake rest of the time.  It's a lot of fun if you're the type of person that likes peace and quiet.

Might have to change the time for non-school time but you get the idea.

Recently, I go to sleep at around 12AM or so(though in the past I have stayed up much later, sometimes pulling all-nighters...), though I usually don't fall asleep until 2AM or past. I have no idea why. And I wake up around the 10-11AM mark, which is likely due to how I long I slept earlier in my life, leading to my internal clock preferring that time or something.
