Superbowl Commercials
« on: February 06, 2011, 10:32:55 pm »

Your favorites? Mine was the Volkswagen Beetle, although the Motorola tablet and Doritos ones were close competitors as well.

All the commercials can be found on this Youtube Channel. For those who don't keep up with american sports, the Superbowl involves 2 football teams playing between wacky and funny commercials.

It was a pretty disappointing year.  If it weren't for Budweiser, the number of humorous ads would have been extremely low.  I thought the halftime show was pretty cool.  I would kill for one of those vests that has the lights in sequence.

This is true every year what are you talking about?
Some of the car ones were decent though.

Edit: It seems Godaddy is gonna be a blight on every Superbowl from now on.

Hmm. I'm having a tough time deciding between Coca Colas several decent ads and the Bridgestone ad. The Kia one was great too.

The beer commercials always win out, so it's just a contest between the non-alcoholic products.

The Coca-Cola one that touched on immigration was great.  The American guard essentially annexed a tiny section of Mexico for his Coca-Cola.

Volkswagen was hilarious too.  I always roll my eyes at commercials that show their cars driving in dangerous, exotic conditions which I pray to NEVER have to drive in, as if that's going to make me like their car.  It's like someone at Volkswagen read my mind and said, "they might as well have CG bugs running around for all the convincing it does for that one dude."

What is the superbowl?

A big gathering where Americans celebrate their creativity by watching the most creative of their commercials. They also watch some sport in the breaks between commercials.
