I play adventurer mode to fully experience the extreme detail that Our Lord Toady has put into the game. I don't just want to read about how the failure of organ X causes death, I want to see the exact effect organ failure has on a sentient being.

The best thing about adventure mode is that you can directly control a creature using the same combat system used in fortress mode. Since you have direct control you can do stuff like grab something's throat, strangle it, bite down on it, and tear it out. Stuff that should be possible in fortress mode but which the AI won't actually do.

I play adventure mode for the fun of being a badass warrior; to experience the context of the world (it's fun to try to figure out histories, of individuals as well as countries); to experience individualized Homeric-type adventure stories in an unplanned, bottom-up fashion; to have an effect on people and places with discrete histories; to wrestle the clothes off of sleeping peasants; to collect trophies from the bodies of my enemies; and to actually use those great pieces of armor and artifact adamantine spears for myself in what do you mean humans can't wear dwarf armor GAH.

Kill a wolf, and beat the rest of the pack with the brain, of the first struck... no?

How about slicing kid's head off, and beating town's mayor with it?

To be a part of the world's history! I brought the world out of the Age of the Hydra and Forest Titan once, and it was the best feeling ever!

I was a very casual fan of adventure mode until one adverurer who managed to enter a demonic fortress. He fought his way through the skeletons and zombies only to come across an adamantine longsword and the longsword sang out begged to be taken by me to be used to slaughter and to kill and spread plague and disease and entropy across all lands and across all species when i took the sword  the portal opened and i stepped into hell itself fought my way down many floors and killed everything i found then when all was dead i left but the character was permanately altered he remained alive but was aflicted with a constant rot across all his body but gained effective immortality due to these mutations everywhere he went the plagues spread he would walk inside a building go off to the next town and slaughter them all as the sword told him  when he returned to the town everyone was afflicted bleeding everying spreading the disease through pus. as he went on more and more of the world became afflicted or died rotten to nothing even the bone turning into yet more pus. and eventually the sword told him to stop in the capital of the most powerful civilization in the world and declared himself king in the name of the desecated corpse that was the world and after becoming fully a daemon crowned himself king of this new daemon world in the name of Grandfather Nurgal.
other than the obvious fabrications like the sword talking is all true everything in this story actually happened in game I modded it so that he was king of that civ and made a him an underworld creature. I love adventure mode because you can do stuff like this oh and that disease i mentioned could be survived with above average disease resistance but caused rotting on every sing body part including bones, its last symptom was dizziness which for some reason never whent away but never really hindered me.

I can't handle fortress mode so I just stick to Adventure.

We don't always find games that has a lot of different fighting methods; which is why I praise this mode.
I hope this mode gets more features in future updates. That'd be nice.

I play it for the randomly generated yet in-depth lore and events, and the old school fantasy game atmosphere it has. Also the gruesome combat system is fun to read too.

Who drew this? I want to ask them permission to use this in a doc on the wiki.

I think this is from the draw your own adventures thread. IF you can't find it by searching through the thread, just reverse image search on tineye.
