The thread title says it all, really.

I've got a lot of free time at the moment, some might say too much, and in order to have something to do with it, I'm thinking about running the Red Hand of Doom 3.5 campaign.

This is an interest check to see how many players are up for it and what sort of characters they want to play.

Setting Info dump post. Huzzah. Also, some stipulations/requests from me at the end.

-------

Some time ago, while plundering the encampment of a group of rather persistent if foolish bandits, your merry band of alternatively bold and intrepid adventurers happened across what appeared to be a treasure map. This map points you in the direction of a Keep near the river village of Drellin's Ferry, though seems to believe in making you find out where exactly the fort is in relation to it. Maybe the people who wrote it are dicks or something.

Regardless, you set out together a few weeks ago, and have been traveling through the Elsir Vale. Drellin's ferry is a couple of days away still but, things are looking good. There are, of course, the usual rumours of bandits, goblins, demons from the infernal pits of the hells, but your stalwart bunch are not afraid.

-----

Abridged history of Elsir Vale.
Spoiler: Hidden for length. (click to show/hide)

----

Chargen Summary, for convenience.

Start at level 5.
9000gp to spend (as standard).
No Monstrous races, unless you can present a compelling argument. So, no pixies for example. Basically, if it wasn't intended to be a player race from the beginning, I'd like you to ask before getting too excited about it. No Warforged.
32 point buy.

Players so far.
Mission0: Rothil Emilden, Helf Beguiler.

I'm game pending a few questions.

What time are we playing?
And may I play an Artificer? I've been wanting to try this class for awhile but haven't had an opportunity.
What books are allowed?

I might be up for it, I suppose.

Probably Fridays/weekends, starting around 8pm GMT.

Yes, you may play an Artificer. Do know that there won't be much downtime during the campaign, though. You'll likely get a few days here and there, but it's unlikely you'll get the weeks/months needed to deck yourself out in magic gear.

Most sources will be open*, however, I'd like people to detail the sources (Book and Page number) for everything they use. D&D 3.5 has a million books and much brokenness. Don't make me look through them all to find out if your feats/spells/race/whatever are broken. Also You CAN play races with Level Adjustment or Racial Hit Dice, as long as the total of LA+RHD+Class levels doesn't go over 5. I'd recommend against it, unless you're playing in melee and have a really really good race in mind.

*I'll put up a full list if this gets properly underway.

The search for a campaign to play an Artificer in continues then. However I'm still interested in playing. Put me down as one of the ones who will be joining if this gets up.

However I'm already in shoruke's game on Saturday, so that is just a heads up.

I'm at -6 GMT, and I would be willing to play.

I'm -5 gmt and I have found a class.

I will be a Half-Elf Beguiler.

PhbII is where the class is from, page 7.

Just in case how are attributes generated?

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

I doubt you saw my edit so I'll post it here.

How are attributes generated, I would like to go ahead and flush out my characters.

Edit:

Also I'm completely fine with that variant rule of diplomacy.

I'm interested if I have the time. I'm at GMT -8. I am currently unavailable on Saturdays, most Fridays, and on Tuesdays. Wednesday and Thursday would be optimal, but I'm willing to work around the various other days.

Sadly, a lot of people who expressed interest in Soli's stream are only really free on weekends. Realmfighter and a couple of others.
We'll see, though.

Reading the 3.5 Players Handbook, people posting other helpful books would be appreciated.

Was about to ask about that ^_^

Edit: I'm going to assume that "WindWright Captain" (from Ebberon Explorer's Handbook) is not allowed since I can't really get a dragon mark? If so I can start us off with a nice handy dandy Airship ^_^
