Alkik thankful for Hashtfa's food.  Alkik show thankfulness by eating plum and being full tummy.  Then show true gratitude by making bedstuffs.  Be poor bedstuffs, but more than bad bedstuffs.

> Eat one plum, then construct a nest/bed/(whatever kobold's sleep in) for Hashtfa inside cave

Game! Although it seems another is hunting them. Besides, Hashtfa would not be able to outrun the little ones, Hashtfa is covered in armor, and the fat rats are so light. Now there is the cave problem, as they have just one small room. But Hashtfa needs a pick, as blades are for cutting flesh, not dirt and stone.

Fashion a crude pick from the nearest suitable stone and one of the collected sticks.

Ruby jostles around inside the kobold's pocket, bits of light reflected through the crude cloth. As it nestles within its new home, it continues to lighten further until it is light as a blade of grass. As the kobold rubbed it, a small warmth could be felt radiating outwards as if the gem was burning.

In line with throwing things in df, you can probably use anything as a throwing weapon.  Effectiveness is in question though.

Adwarf, you can use the kunai as a throwing weapon. I meant that (historically speaking) it would have been duller so that it cold be more utilitarian, tough, and more useful in general. Apparently people used to do everything from throw them to cut crops with them to climb using them. The more sharpened version would work even better for throwing.

You can't go into a mood on command. There aren't 20 kobolds. And kobolds don't get strange moods.

Ah. I assumed you meant a strange mood because of how you specifically said for Blargh to work fast and more efficiently, which should normally be contradictions.
