That one tiny bit where he holds a dinosaur generated more utility for me than 5 hours of Dino D-Day.

It doesn't matter if some other games may have better tank combat, or some games have better dinosaurs, because this is battlefield 3. As someone who loved the shit out of battlefield 2, I'd say that battlefield multiplayer is one of the more unique multiplayers in a shooter, largely because of the plausibility of a variety of roles besides just shooting stuff. It's looking like it'll be a deserving sequel thus far, and if it is it'll be a brilliant game.

As someone who modded the shit out of battlefield 2, I don't care to turn the game into a halfway-realistic shooter all over again.

Fixed for my perspective.

Those motherfuckers just better realise half the reason anyone still plays BF2 is Project Reality and other mods.

Why the hell are you playing battlefield for realism.

See above comment on Project Reality. For a wargame fps experience it's only rivaled by ArmA2 ACEmod or upcoming PR for ArmA2.

I dunno, if they're listening to 4chanto help design this game, it might have a chance of succeeding.

Oh pish posh, there's tons of room for ridiculously unrealistic mods too.

There should be a mod that gives acheivements and level-ups and all the goodies for teamkilling, stealing vehicles out from under your buddies, and mic spam.

That would be a great mod... for other people.

Bad news folks, EA's introducing a content DLC weapon pack thingy for specific stores. I am saddened

I googled and found EA's announcement for the UK. Very disturbing.

Day one DLC pains me. Especially when its announced so early.

As for the realism thing, I like realistic games a lot like Arma 2. But I also enjoy arcadey shooters (BC2 for example). And when something like the PR mod comes along for BF2, I am very happy.

Lo and behold, there is an RPS article on the DLC and the Reddit BF3 boycott over it.

Because game boycotts always work.

Buoying their activities is the memory that a similar campaign worked for Battlefield: Bad Company, organised by Sarcastic Gamer. Since EA backed down last time, it seems odd that they’re doing the same this time.
