My Rooftop Defender is complete!  There were some rough patches in his development but damn is he worth it.

I still have a couple armor upgrades to go but aside from that everything is as described in the image.  Sen's Fortress Rooftop is a great PvP arena, I've already gotten one kill dropping onto the bridge behind a guy and hornet ring backstabbing him.

On an unrelated note, I think Oolacile Dusk Crown has overtaken Mask of the Child when it comes to tryhard darkwraiths.  When I see that crown I know the fight isn't going to be interesting and will probably just be Homing Soulmass/Pursuers spam.

Crossbows do upgrade but no stat scaling. There's also lightning bolts plus lightning upgrade but I prefer heavy bolt and +15 upgrade.

Plus, there's the machine gun crossbow to contend with.

Don't be like that. He could mean he's going to take on the gankers. God knows victory is so sweet there. I sometimes go there as a human and wait for invasions.

So, on my latest challenge or self-induced-torture, I decided to never use shields with my new hunter class. Just bows and swords, just for the fun of it. "It couldn't be too hard", I thought!


I still can't believe I'd gotten as far as the Depths and not ragequit and deleted all of my saves.


Also, how ideal is upgrading your typical dagger? Using them is pretty fun for some reason, and I'd like to actually be able to kill something with it.

The bandit knife is best knife. Good for back stabby and front stabby.

Not using shields hard? I played all my character without shield, two handing all the way!
Seriously though, I actually found it easier without a shield, just need to rely on dodging.

It does prove Jelle's statement, though. I made  this video ages ago, for some other Jelle. There was one before him, and there will be another after that.

All of them, are absolutely right : dark souls is easier without a shield.
