It's a little semi-game based on the idea that what people really want is to watch spiky deathcars flail helplessly, then upvote/downvote them.

Share your favorite car's DNA! It's not as creepy as it sounds!

It's probably just your computer.

I find the concept interesting, but I am frustrated by the fact that it cannot be paused and only runs when it is the active tab within the active window.

How does it work, exactly?

Just random generate vehicles then mix the successful ones together the next generation?

Yes, though I understand the measurements of "success" vary a bit depending on the map.

All you need to do to pause it is to open a new tab and select that.

Actually, I did notice that if you open two separate windows (not tabs) you can keep multiple copies going at the same time.

It seems like it just starts eating up your physical memory too, with each generation it produces. I can't imagine that being all that good for performance.

That's the problem. It's impossible to run in the background because of that.
I believe that its a "feature" of this generation of flash (or whatever was used to make it). Not caused by the actual game.

Damn PTTG, i'm doing the same thing, and i'm only 48 generations in

Edit:

I love how because the game sometimes drops cars on their backs, they eventually all start spawning with either wheels on all side or where the body is flat
