crash
« on: February 02, 2011, 07:43:46 pm »

Ok, i'm new here so hello! Been searching for a solution for some time, haven't found it so i post here.
I get crash to desktop during
 Saving World
Offloading units
screen.

I have xp64. Is the game playable under xp64?

This used to happen a fair bit. I'd thought it was fixed, but I guess not.

Luckily, it saves successfully anyway, so you need not worry about it.

I find this isn't really a massive problem, honestly.
It's happened to me once today and I've saved quite a few times.

It appears to be hitting a problem somewhen during unloading units... But, that's alright, since it's after the game has saved, so I don't lose any data.

No no. It's a reproductible crash. It happens every time i start a new world generation.

Oh, it's world gen!
Then, no, I haven't been getting that error.

Though, again, it looks like it's in the unloading stage, is the map still playable?

Are you using any mods? Notibly, your own ones?

No, no mods. Here's some of my findings :
graphics yes/no has no influence.
legacy version crashes before loading any units
sdl crashes at loading unit 139

I have been able to make worlds that crash like that with wonky worldgen settings.  Are you trying to generate a custom worldgen, or one from the default chooser?

How much RAM have you got? I had this problem pretty regularly until I upgraded mine.
