That would make sense, but I imagine it might be difficult to wage wars with so many troops tied up keeping down rebels and protesters or whatever. I'm beginning to get a strong police state vibe from the Borzori now.

just got back online... Knave is wrong. They have a massive military to protect the Hive-Mothers at all times. In times of war every single Uniklid fights according to their caste, those built for war are the only ones with weapons. And there are no 'artisan' Uniklids. They are given free time after work to express themselves.

Huh, GamerKnight, you seem to have pretty much the exact same concept as I did when I was writing up a fantasy world setting.

A race of insectoids based off feudal monarchies instead of hiveminds, though. The queen DOES control via pheromones, but she mades a convincing argument that it's not really mind control and it's not her fault etc. Nevermind the fact that individuals still have freedom of will, they just don't want to kill that queen and want to obey her commands perfectly etc.

The PCs still killed her for the lewts, though. =/

Nope its different. The Unilklid Hive-Mothers can send messages, but they can not rigidly control. The Uniklids do what they say because, well, wouldn't you obey your mum?
