There's a restock mod that supplies stations with all item types, and one that adds a bunch of different variants of the vanilla ships to make battles a bit less predictable.

Ah, thanks for the reqs. Enjoying Uomoz's at the moment, probably try the rest soon after.

I just now remembered how easy it is to remove the ammo/energy costs from all the weapons. Full power total destruction time~

In other news, is there any way to automatically exclude some of your ships from battle, or at least have 'em auto-retreat? It's getting tiresome to tell the freighter to retreat at the start of every battle :-\

If you drop all the fighter fleet point costs down to 1 FP as well they become basically free to refit in combat, assuming you have a carrier.
Then you have full power total destruction time~

Frumple, the only way I know to keep ships out of battle is to keep it understaffed. Theres also this from the newest patchnotes, though I don't know if it would actually work since I haven't tried keeping ships out of combat:
Quote
Added "hints" column to ship_data.csv
        Possible values: CIVILIAN and CARRIER
Used to tell the AI how to behave with a given ship. A ship is considered civilian if it either 1) is flagged as "CIVILIAN" or 2) has less than half of its ordnance points spent.

Understrength worked, yeah. Under ordnance was... not viable. Freighter needed speed to keep up with stuff. I think.

S'fairly irrelevant, shortly after noticing it worked, I had a chance to capture a much bigger freighter (gigantophis cruiser) that actually had some kick to it, and now I don't worry about it flying along with me. It'll blow up the half of the enemy fleet I don't get to first :P

I'd be totally fine with a nanoha mod (balanced or unbalanced), but nothing important has actually happened with the actual spacecraft except for that one "Explode the crap out of the severely wounded, reincarnating Book of Darkness" thing and shooting down an ancient relic that already had significant internal damage. We just know they have lasers of inderterminate strength and the Arc-en-Ciel, and are good at acting as the cleanup flotilla for large objects.

Well, and Lindy & Chrono being admirals or something. But officers aren't implemented yet. And the Aces aren't even the size of fighters.

All that means is that their hit polygons will only have a single vertex and they'll have tiny sprites. Add in the ability to "pilot" an Ace as your "flagship" and you've got a Nanoha bullethell in space. Now I wish I was a decent modder, because that would be absolutely hilarious.

That aside, it probably wouldn't be too difficult to develop ship variants based on what we've seen. Or steal them from fanfiction.

You could probably do it with some spriting (or nabbing sprites of them from elsewhere), tinkering in SFEdit, some time adding Raising Heart and others to the weapons list, making a variant for each of them, and modifying the character creation end choices, though they'd need to be at least frigates in name only to be pilotable, fighters are not usable. The problem would either be how to scale their health/armor/shield, or what to do if you somehow lost them. You can't exactly have multiple of them sitting around in stations without shenanigans.

The fleetships you could just add in, give them weapons, give them a default variant (and a second one with the Arc-en-Ciel as a builtin weapon?), and add them to a station, or give the TSAB a station somewhere in Corvus and stock the ships/resupply fleets there, though I'm not sure on how to add a station and fleets to resupply it with ships.

Of all of that, I only know the SFEdit part with its save/load .ship and .variant files, and adding things to either character creation or pre-existing stations, and adding things to resupply fleets.

Clones. That's how. They're from a mirror universe TSAB that went slightly darker and started cloning Aces as part of a military expansion program. Also, all of the characters now have goatees. Because mirror universe.  :P

I made a pilot mod like that with a single mission (the second one didn't get released). Unfortuneately, this forray into modding taught me the meaning of keeping backups :o.

Fortuneately however, I still do have the ship file.

WARNING apparently GRAPHIC

I also made little destructible missiles made of clusters of bulbous fish teeth come out of them at machine guns speeds from those turret ports too while I was at it ;). As you can imagine, the ship I gave you wasn't all that big due to how much firepower this thing was putting out.

Vacuum mod beats me into the ground :-\

Quite interesting, but getting off the ground and starting to accrue shit is... not happening, for me. Got to level seven, mostly by being blown to crap. Firing up fleet control now >_>

Yeah, theres a reason I mentioned it was nowhere near done. Its not impossible to get out of the start, but its fairly close right now.
