If Alex doesn't get back to you within 12 hours, send him an e-mail. I'm sure he can help you out with that, he's been very accommodating for issues with the ordering process.

Are there any plans for modules that you can install onto the ships before hand? Also, is it possible to reroute how many fleet points the game gives you to the mission descriptions themselves instead of having them applied universally in the settings file?

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Thanks for rounding those themes up. To be honest, I kind of like the default SMF scheme - it's nice and simple, and very easy on the eyes.

About wordpress - it didn't actually occur to me that it might have a plugin that gives you forums. I'm not sure I'd trust that a plugin does a good enough job, though, while SMF is more or less a known quantity.

Yes re: modules (think MoO2 ship systems). No re: battleSize, because that setting mainly exists to avoid performance problems. It'd be sort of like letting you set the desired quality of particle effects per-mission :)

A cheesy way to get around that is to place a bunch of Comm Relays near each start location. But 20 Onslaughts at a time will not be good for the frame rate, I can promise you that.

Thing is, I can't tell if I'm watching the Bay12 forums or the Starfarer forums... I use several tabs on my browser, usually open topics on new tabs, etc. If you don't want to change the default theme at least install some optional themes for users.

Even here, the Dwarf Fortress section is themed, although the rest isn't. It didn't bother me until I had to visit 2 sites with the same theme, heh.

It seems like I didn't actually submit that post with the log file:

Fair point, I'll see if I can work that in :) Would probably help to add an icon to the website so it shows up in the tab - been meaning to do that for forever.

Ship hull variant [conquest] not found!

Ahh, there's the problem. "conquest" is the id of the hull, not the variant (the variant is a hull outfitted with weapons etc). You need to pass in a variant id to that method - iirc, for the conquest, the only variant that exists is "conquest_Elite". You can see the variant definition files under data/variants.

Strangely enough, that was the I put there before trying just plain conquest :P. I'll try that again and post the log file when I get home.

But what if you've just recently spent a crapload of money on some new hardware? Does it cause bugs and crashes if it goes above a certain size? I would love 20 dreadnought-class starships duking it out at once, sounds crazyawesome : D

Some of us have rigs that can handle it, you know.

Yeah, though at this point you'll have to get your hands dirty and edit a config file. There's a "battleSize" setting, and the contributing factors (i.e., objectives) are a percentage of that - though these are also configurable via a script. The game is most likely to be balanced around a battleSize of 100 points or so, but if you want to have huge battles and have the cpu to handle it, who am I to say no? :)

I'll just leave this here.
