Who said you could do that? I'm not saying you can't- it just seems like a bad idea to make assumptions on what the intended game will turn into so early on in development. While it sounds like the game has some similarities to the X series on paper, from what I've played so far it feels like a very different game. It's not to say that you're wrong; it just seems a bit silly to apply that level of detail to something still in development.
Well if there's resource aquisition then processing the said resourcess is the next logical step.
Besides the intended features they posted on the site are:
Hire officers to give skill bonuses, pilot auxiliary ships, and oversee your operations <- Operations like mining and industry right?
Explore the sector for knowledge and profit <- Finding technology and ore rich asteroids/planets.
Trade goods, run mining operations, build industries — and defend your interests <- Nuff said.
I really hope they take as little inspiration from the X series as possible. Its pretty bad.
Nah the game is great. it's just not for everyone. It takes a lot of patience... especially at the start where all you do is flying around in a slow freighter hoping to make profit till you can start your trade empire... not to mention a profitable factory complex.
And if we add causing rebelions on planets and dealing with pirates then we might have one hell of a game that may run on low end computers.
