Can it condense back into a liquid?

I just had an idea of making a steam-generator which condenses at the top of a shaft and then runs through a waterwheel to get to the bottom again.

The only issues are condensing the steam and making steam without obsidianizing the whole generator.

No, it doesn't. At least, not from what I've seen in Arena mode.

Otherwise, someone would have already weaponized it.

That would be awesome, but the previous quote remains.  Someone would have weaponized it if it were possible.
