Peurto Rico is one of my least favorite states due to a noodle incident. Also because I don't really have anything on any of the other states...

I've only been to like half of the states so far. Planning to hit all but Hawaii on my planned road odyssey. Of the ones I've been to, either New Jersey or Indiana is my least favorite...probably Jersey, because I have some happy memories of Indiana what with family and all. Jersey is just a shithole. Really, Jersey is a shoe-in.

If I'd been to all of them, I have a feeling Kansas might top Jersey, although that's hard.

Seems I'm late for the Virginia hate.

I'm damning that place simply because of the crazy drivers that come out of that place. Absurd merges, cutting people off, doing U-turns on highways, every instance of stupidity has a high chance of there being a Virginia license place on the car.

I'm going to add Texas to the list of least favorite states.  Why?  The week that DFW holds the Superbowl, for teams from Green Bay and Philadelphia no less, the entire fucking state is paralyzed by winter weather.  Rolling statewide blackouts (like I just got), shut down highways, blocked airports.  And all for about two inches of sleet.  What an embarrassment.

If Detroit was underwater it would have been the perfect location to film a Bioshock movie.

I knew it was bad, but I didn't know it was that bad.  What I don't get is, why would all that stuff just be abandoned there?  A library full of books?  A classroom full of materials?  A church full of icons?  Wouldn't all that stuff at least get a transfer or a wholesale?  It doesn't look like Detroit went out of business, that looks like it was attacked.  (By something other than the economy that is.)

The people of Detroit evacuated to escape the terror that is the people of Detroit.

what can they do? they can't even pay for the police force they have. last i heard they are demolishing the abandon buildings and shortening the city limit. most progress was using abandon lots as city gardens for access to vegetables and fruit.

I'm going to go down there and start a radio station patterned after Galaxy News Radio to serve the Motor City Wasteland, who's with me?

My least favorite state, California.  I really, really, really hate every policy that comes out of California.  The only thing that makes even part of that state mildly OK is Blizzard Entertainment and Blizzcon.

What? Which every policy? We definitely aren't the most conservative state, but there are states with more liberal forms of everything we have (more liberal drug, marrage, slavery laws...). Plus we make all the culture that the rest of the US consumes, and we subsidise the rest of the nation; we pay more in federal taxes than we recieve.

Oh, and we are the only state that is both above sea level and above freezing.

Yes, I specifically searched for "California" in this thread.

P.S.: If you were talking about LA, yeah, then you may have a point.

This is not necessarily a selling point man.

OK, except for pop music. That's all made in New York*.

*Or LA, which as I said, is really kinda separate.

Or fashion, the majority of which comes from one zip code.  Seriously, I work in U.S. customs, mining invoices for required data.  I know what shit goes where.  There's like a million textile and fashion industry hubs in 10018.  Probably 1/3 of the stuff I deal with is just fabrics and clothing samples from all over the world going to various offices in that zip code.

If I'd been to all of them, I have a feeling Kansas might top Jersey, although that's hard.

I actually thought about adding Kansas... or Georgia.  They are the only two states I know that are horribly miserable to ride through on a motorcycle.  Both were unbearably hot.  Kansas was more featureless on top of that than Illinois and Indiana put together.  Georgia wasn't featureless, but had the worst drivers of any state I've been in.  They seemed to purposely fuck with you out of boredom or something.  Don't really know much about them besides that, but you have no idea how miserable they both were just to pass through.

1. All the culture the US consumes is utter crap. And then there's Cake Boss, which is tasty crap.
2. Everyone does, because they have to pay federal salaries and the military, and foreign aid...

Oh, and isn't California the worst hit state in all of the Union?

Plus, you have a washed up action star that barely speaks English as your governor.

And I'm from Canada...

Well, California would be the 4th richest nation in the world if it were counted on its own*.

*Statistic is old and I don't guarentee its accuracy.  Still, it is or was a pretty damn rich state.

As I recall, Califonia is currently bankrupt.
