better use it while you got it, to force the Allies to lose more ships while you still control the sea's.

I hear in 1944 things get very ugly for japan with the Allies receiving numerous battleships and carriers.

Even in the Andy Mac VS PZB game where PZB has sunk... like 8 carriers? and 10 battleships from 41-43 they are still talking about by 1945 he will be back on the defense even with such disgusting losses for the allied player. Andy Mac keeps burning his ships in trying to defend against japans main fleet attacks when he has no possible way to handle it.

BURN THE ALLIES, Suprise them at every possible meeting.

March 14th

Very quiet day, only thing that happens is Pedang in Sumatra getting overran by Japanese tanks. The Dutch are retreating both coasts to the North... Trying to evacuate? Not going to work, theres a recon unit dedicated to visiting Medang twice a day to give targets to the 60 torpedo bombers at Alor Star.  :)

Midway evacuation leaves unattacked, and by sunset is out of Vindicator's thousand pounder delivery range.

Captain Toshio Abe assigned to lead the Carrier Division 3.

Tried my best so far.  :)

And yeah true, the Allies are NOT going to run out of stuff, even carriers. Takes them time to replace losses but they cant be outproduced.

Seems like you really need to use you few month of sea hegemony to do as much damage as possible. Doing at least one important raid (On australia, pearl harbor or california) and trying to go for Rangoon.

Was planning to do one West Coast (Vancouver, Seattle?) raid and one to Indian Ocean simultaneously, or staggered by few days, to lure the Allies to react knowing that the carriers are "away".

Sounds good, if they see you hit with carriers in two places at once, they must conclude that you've used them all. How about Australia? What could possibly be left down there to defend it? Or trying landings on it?

Dutch East Indies first!

March 15th

Another quiet day, a British brigade trying to flank in Burma is thrown back one hand tied behind. B-26s raid Watalpone in Celebes, sink a cargo ship in the harbour, but lose 3 of their number to Zeroes.

As soon as Hosho is ready, 8 days, we are ready to invade Java, South Borneo and Ambon.

There are now 45 turns before the Amphibious bonus runs out, to get everything in Dutch East Indies(unless its a small base/island that can be captured by paratroopers), as much as Solomons as I want and possibly Port Moresby. If Port Moresby cant be secured, there needs to be a way to neutralize it.

Theres now a triangle of bases being built into major air bases: Rabaul(which will have 25th Air Fleet HQ within a week), Kavieng and Madang. They are all so close to each other that all they can provide air cover to each other, except Madang is too far from the others for Ki-43s, but there are always the Zeroes that can do it easily.

Solomons are not really needed for other than a buffer for that important triangle. Allied convoys to Australia will have to take a 2-3 day longer route but thats it. The CarDiv II will sortie tomorrow to cover the landings at Guadalcanal, Florida Island, Lae and Buna in the end of the month. Marine units have been chosen and are now preparing... Lae and Guadalcanal get extra attention, as I'm expecting more than the odd "25th Bagpipe Cleaning Battalion".

Battleships are now all at Singapore, they will support the Java, Timor and Balikpapan landings together with the CarDiv III.

Aerial reconnaissance reports only small enemy forces in Balikbapan and Ambon, but Java seems to be heavily occupied, with loads of ships at Soerebaja. 4 divisions worth with artillery and tank support should be enough, da? To make sure this operation will not end in another Midway Farce the invasion beaches are in the middle of the island instead of near Batavia in the Northern end where they are most likely expected. A diversionary force with little escorts will pick up Marines from Oosthaven to invade Christmas Island, and during all this mess the CarDiv III will penetrate into the Indian Ocean, in hopes of catching and killing any Allied traffic on routes Perth-Java/Timor and Darwin Java/Timor.

March 16th

Another quiet day.

An American submarine sinks a light transport in the North China Sea, but Japanese submarine I-5 sinks an ASW DD Creyton near Brisbane. Fair trade to me.  :)

Training squad of Ki-27s finally predicts where the SB-2s go, and 20 of them shoot down 7 out of 9 bombers. Take that!

March 16th-18th

Very quiet days both. B-26s get slaughtered over Gasmata near Truk, by Zeroes, but thats about it...

It'll start again tomorrow. Troops start loading for Balikbapan at Iba and Java at Singapore!

INVADE RUSSIA!!!'
Reading a few AAR's of people attempting it, in 1942-3 it can still be done, (russian armies dont get the major upgrades of tanks etc till 44/45 i believe. if you move around some armies from the SRA its possible.

Also stops the USA from having a land base right next to japan to bomb the home islands from late game.

^)^
I think im gonna do this in my current game against the AI, but Its gonna be 6 more months for me to do it first, so late 1942 for me.

Its something interesting to try at least, if you ever get so ahead of the Allied player :)

The units used in Taming the Bear are now in use in China unfortunately. He managed to beat the Soviets, but it wasnt easy, and in doing so trashed his air force and didnt progress at all in China. Resource wise China doesnt have as much oil and refineries but more resources and industry, and because of the shape of the initial front, the further you advance in China the easier it gets as the front becomes shorter!

March 19th

5th quiet day in a streak, just the standard action. Medang in Sumatra falls to the Japanese, a Chinese base force regiment(!) blocking a supply road near Sinyang in China is retreated.

Troops start loading in Tokyo(for Nauru island) and Iba (for Balikbapan). Action will start again in a few days.

I think we should name the Java/Borneo/Timor landing operation... Any suggestions? And not another "ten thousand years of glorious Empire IV" or a variation of it.  :P

welp i ordered my own carrier force to raid up past singapore and didnt pay attn to exactly there move path was, and they decided to move directly through singapore instead of around it.

800 coastal guns killed my entire fleet 4 battleships, 6 cruisers, 6 carriers :/

lol. thank god I made a save of the last turn.
