I've always wondered how you can get a skill in wood burning, and how that makes the wood burn faster...?

they burn faster if you splint them into small pieces before burning, as well as if you fan the furnace harder.

Shhh! Don't make a demonstration for him, he's barely dabbling in wood burning! Let him reach better skill levels on his own.

Marthnn likes obsidian, steel, star ruby, goblin-cap wood, the color bloody red and giant desert scorpions for their tails. When possible, he prefers to consume sunshine. He absolutely detests cave blobs.

That didn't last long, huh? Shame, cause binary's cool. Anyway, an important message: I will be changing my names on every username based thing I use to ASCIt on/around 10/1. Consolidating, I guess you could say.

That's a problem?  Clear cut the trees for their precious precious wood.  Clear cut the unicorns for their.. actually just leave them alone they are probably dangerous.  Trees don't fight back.

Yet. The trees haven't fought back yet. I consider clearcutting a sort of preemptive strike - but a magma flood is preferred, when practical.

Count yourself lucky. My last migrant wave had a dwarf who was a legendary liar. Nothing else.

... or IS he?

@Footjob, you can microwave most grains I've tried pretty easily through the microwave, even if they aren't packaged for it.

I hate buying cloth off caravans when my fort has a textile industry orientation - it's shoddy quality with possibly shoddy dyeing. There's a value multiplier from weaving thread into cloth as well as the dyeing and then the actual clothiering. While I don't care about min/max'ing my forts I do care about huge missed opportunities. But not every fort I run has a textile industry orientation - in the past my forts tried to run every industry in the game, thereby inevitably dying FPS death very quickly from the sheer quantity of stuff being output. Nowadays I have to be selective about which industries I pursue and stonecrafting usually never gets chosen.
