With the new Bill C-32, the corporates yet again try to curtail freedoms in order to generate more profit.
I'm going to ask all Canadians to sign this here :P: Online petition.

I can only hope for you guys.

I'm kind of a Canadian but I'm lazy and have never lived in Canada. They just gave me citizenship cause they're cool like that. Care to give a nutshell of what this is about?

Our ISPs are price gouging monopolies who don't even try for customer service anymore, and this bill allows them to continuing doing that while also making them the front-line defense against suspected digital rights violations. Considering I've already had my internet disconnected once by Rogers when they thought IRC was a virus broadcasting over their network (I've since switched ISPs), I have little confidence in giving them more legal powers.

It's bad, but at least now America isn't the only country in North America with the government trying to censor the entire internet.

What a joke, for some reason this doesn't surprise me one bit.the internet prices are high enough as it is, now they want to charge more money for less service.  Thanks alot gov, the rich get richer and the rest get fucked.

There are Aprox. 100,000 people who signed this petition.

Canada has Aprox. 34,300,000 people.

Pretty Good, considering the visibility of a online poll and the general apathy most people have towards politics.
