What does this mean?

Looks like they destroyed a masterwork engraving, probably titled Urdim Eraldazat.

Could it be "defaced a Urdim Eraldazat masterpiece"? I've had notifications when a masterpiece item was destroyed.

Oh, that'd make sense cause I was digging somewhere engraved because I wanted to link my statue garden to a new arena thing I was building.

It's a pillar. Made of exposed chrysophrase.

That is, it's a single-tile wall, unconnected to any other wall, made out of the gem chrysophrase, that you've revealed.. Smoothed, too, since otherwise it would be called a rough exposed chrysophrase pillar, IIRC.

Chrysoprase has a value of 2, so if you were to smooth and engrave it, it would add a small amount of value to your foretress (smoothed/engraved natural walls and floors have value based in part on the value of the material being smoothed). Of course, if you were to mine it out first, the floor it leaves behind would be just as valuable, plus you get to keep the gem.

It makes sense that it is an engraving as opposed to an object--consider when speaking about art in real life-- e.g. thieves stole a Picasso, a Michaelangelo was damaged by a maniac etc.
