Diamonds are just a different form of carbon. Not magma safe. :D

But being an artifact, it won't be destroyed. Instead, it'll be in flames forever. Try lighting it on fire, then putting it in a well. :D

That'd kind of be awesome for bathing. You always have a nice source of hot water?... Wait. Did I just out myself as elf for implying I bathe?

Of course not, Dwarves bathe too... in the blood of elves.

You need to make a well with that bucket.

Also a Giant Cave Spider silk rope encrusted with faint yellow diamonds

A Platinum block

and a Platinum mechanisms

For the best value of the well, make sure ALL the dwarves making the products, including decorations, are high legendary.  And all products are masterful.

On decorations they can't be made with whatever material the base item is made from.  And I don't think images can be sown on ropes.  Bone-type products (bone, shell, ivory or tooth, pearl, and hoof) uses bonecarving.  Cut gems (including glass) uses gem setting.  Metal uses metalcrafting.  They can be used on these.

Use ropes or chains.  I don't know how much each can be decorated.  For ropes use dyed giant cave spider silk.  Dying is affected by quality.  Chains are made by metalcrafting.

The block has no quality modifier, and I don't think it can be decorated.  Though they can be made out of metal.

Mechanisms can be made out of metal, but only weapon-grade metals.  Though you can make them out of any raw stone with some micromanagement.  I think they can be decorated.

Use an architect and a mason to make it.  And yes, the architect needs to be legendary too.

Just a fun mini-megaproject, seeing how high of a value you can get from one well.

If you want a mega-well, use an artifact raw adamantine mechanism, an artifact adamantine bucket, an artifact adamantine chain, and a metal adamantine block. Use a legendary architect and a legendary metalsmith and repeat until both the design and construction are masterful, then observe as your fortress's Architectural wealth increases by over a hundred million dwarfbucks.

P.S. If you don't get this note, let me know and I'll write you another.
It's amazing how dwarves can make a stack of bones completely waterproof and magmaproof.
It's amazing how they can make an entire floodgate out of the bones of 2 cats.
