First things first, go in the house. Only 1 resident in the house, instead of the normal 9999.
"At times, creeping things slither out from below ground."

"Ghoulumbras is a half days travel to the southeast."
"Yes?"
"Seek this place and kill such and such the troglodyte."
"Righto
This is actually the first time I've every got this "At times, creeping things slither out from below ground." in my playthroughs ever. And a request to kill a troglodyte. I guess that's beacuse I uaslly have atleast 100 years of history before I start playing.
Next order of business, OFF THE CLIFF! Um... Epic fails? The sort lived life of Blottedmurdered. Fun.

The only time I got that message was also for a troglodyte.

I guess it could occasionally be for stuff like giant cave spiders, voracious cave crawlers, or animal men, but troglodytes are the thing I've seen the most of.

Hmmm... Well that was the worst first charcter ever. Dropped 5 storys and turned into a mangled heap of organs.
