My control key is broked.

My computer always thinks i'm holding control, even if i'm not. It gets really annoying.
What's the fix?

I can press them with ease, I dought they're stuck. Still worth a try.

well theres that, unplug and replug the keyboard back in, or reboot cause your OS is stupid.

I've rebooted twice, and I don't think I can disconnect it, I'm on a laptop.
I guess, with an axe, I could... Yeah.

I don't think it would be a very good idea. I'm already missing an enter key.

Aren't full-fleged vacuum cleaners a bit, uh...dangerous for computers? Thus the canisters of compressed air they sell?

Eh. They're concerned about static charge, which vacuums can build up a bit of depending on what's in them, ect....

But unless you're sticking a Dyson into your case, you're not going to be sucking transistors off your board with a vacuum. Compressed air is good because you can get it into tight spaces, and it's a totally neutral aerosol.

i use aerosols for coolant when my super old laptop broke its fan.

Hey guys, is it possible someone could offer a software suggestion? It might be as simple as somehow disabling a CTRL key, and if that's not the right one then try the other. You might be left with a nonfunctioning CTRL key but you have a second one on the other side.

Anybody? I am SURE this has to be a common thing to do.

I did that once.
Disabled space and backspace.
The solution was to go into my keyboard preferences, delete the US QWERTY setting, and re-add it.
If QWERTY, or whatever, is your only layout, you may have to add another to disable it.
