(and I actually think a couple of them may have come to some of the sessions high on pot too)
I would not recommend this. Unless everyone does it, you're keeping up the pace of the game, and you still need to be able to calculate, have overview, and concentrate. Especially if you're the DM.  ::)

I live in Alabama. The only social event that ever goes on within 20 miles of here is the local Alzhiemer's support group for old people, or methadone clinics for young ones.

TLC in general is horrible. Everything on it is like a circus sideshow without the showmanship "Come one, come all! See the world's most tediously boring freaks!"

The only reason people watch it is to feel better about themselves because their life doesn't suck that much. /derail

I shall mod the raws of Dwarf Fortress so I may hunt and slay the elusive Cake Boss.

Will he drop *Plump Helmet Cake* when killed? Or y'know, have it in his inventory of something for looting?

I dropped in wondering what the hell is wrong with TLC, but I guess your TV channels differ...

This is off-topic and seems to be more lulzy than productive.

OP, could you please rerail or lock?

Meh I guess I should. Truthfully school sidetracked me like crazy but ....

I suppose it might be interesting to see ideas for a sustainable social event that could meet every week/month. I suppose it doesn't have to be massively expensive and would probably be better if it wasn't. Any ideas?

I think you know more about what your personal interests are than any of us here. Just do something that appeals to you, and see if anyone else has interest.

Board game night.
Movie night.
Vintage game night (time to dust of that N64).

Basically any activity that requires or at least is more pleasureable with some people at hand.
Hmm have you mentioned what number of people you are aiming for?
