The army announced it will respond accordingly in case of a breach of truce and will continue its operation for neutralizing the terror tunnels.
obviously, it doesn't mean Israel will further invade into gaza more than it had already and deal with the tunnels going underneath the "deeper" parts, just the offensive ones and those that were already discovered. i see it as a completely defensive action.

The 5.3 tunnel that was built in the carmel mountain cost around $300M. since i am talking about multiplying that by around 8, and additional funds to build the crossings and security systems, we are looking at around $3BN. while that sounds an insane amount, it is entirely realistic to acquire that sum by partially an extremely long term loan from Qatar and partially by a collective funds donated by the US, Europe, Turkey, Egypt and Saudi Arabia. Also, someone could just seize that sum from Khaled Mashal, because he alone is reported to have something around that sum that he got by stealing Aid money and squeezing the gazans dry.

So wait what is the point of this fantastical tunnel that Israel would just immediately destroy due to it being a violation of the blockade?  Why not just have Israel lift the blockade without wasting $300M on nothing?

Should I take this to mean that you think the blockade should be lifted though, considering that this is basically what you're proposing?  And that the Israeli government was therefore wrong to reject the Hamas/PLO truce agreement (which had opening the Rafah crossing as its only demand)?

... so Israel isn't attempting to reconcile continued offensive ground operations with the concept of a truce. Just... continuing to occupy another nation's land and blowing parts of it up and calling that a truce. Bit depressing, that. Not that there's much about this whole situation that's not, but eh.

Wonder how many more Palestinian civilians the IDF's going to kill during this "truce"

Speaking of that, actually, what sort of numbers re: civilian casualties are the IDF putting out so far? Wikipedia page on the conflict seems to be suggesting some pretty wildly varying numbers being accounted for by different groups.

On that tunnel though, remeber that costs are not linearly related to length. A 40 km tunnel would need extensive ventilation and evacuation options, resulting in rather high costs.

Well, yeah, that's basically the deal Hamas and the PLO are offering.  They've abided by ceasefires before (well, the ceasefires that weren't just unilateral), I don't see why they wouldn't again.
