Not sure the best thread for this... but a North Korean "diplomat" just threatened south Korea with final destruction at the UN. This kind of thing doesn't happen.

Nah they won't. Because no matter what's the UN is not, it's at least a forum where you can talk to those guys, and you want to be talking to them.

Chucking them out of the UN may do far more harm than good, in the UN leadership's eyes.

I just think that kicking them out of the UN would actually be a step towards war. As in, the first "real" step.

I think threatening final destruction of your enemies in front of the UN after setting off a nuclear weapon would count as a step towards war.

North Korea sank a South Korean ship and bombed the christ out of an island and nothing happened. Threatening final destruction after a nuclear test is nothing.
