Do the kims have that much approval amongst the military? I would have gone with MSH, but fill me in Sheb.

Well, firstly, no one really knows much about the inner politics of Best Korea. We only have conjectures and supputation.

Kim-Jung-Un was made a general back in 2012, and his now occupying all the position of authority over the army. It might be only symbolic, but he also dismissed the head of the General Staff, Ri Yong-Ho, which is rumoured to have een executed since. So he was able to force that guy out of his position and appoint one of his pal in its position.

So although we cannot know for sure, he seems to be firmly in control of the army.

Edit: Apparently, the shuffle is bigger than I knew. The guy is tightening his grip.

The Kim family exercises a version of Divine Right where they are both God and King. Suffice it to say that they aren't figureheads at all.

Kim-Jong-Il certainly was not, but when he croaked there was much speculation that a junta would take control of the power. Apparently not, but it's not that far-fetched: I doubt the generals believe all that divine crap.

I don't know about that. People like to assume that high figures in bad political structures are just power hungry and don't have any ideological loyalty, but in this case I don't think that's true. Multiple generations of North Koreans have grown up under the propaganda of the state, and even if you're a general it doesn't help your quality of life by that much. We know they (and most of the military) get priority on food distribution, have legal access to tobacco and alcohol, and filtered internet. Not that many perks.

So, given what we see from what we do know, it seems like being a general in North Korea is like being middle class in China. No wonder the Best Koreans freak out when they go to literally any other country.

Can we get a video of that? They'll be a hell of a lot of media on that one day. It will probably become a stereotype.

When you consider it, this instability, if it happens will probably get more people killed in the long run... not our problem though.

Let me just drag this thread out from the depths to deliver something I found.

Enjoy, I suppose.

Email between David Goulding who is the Business Development Director and Philip regarding a new offer about an operation in syria.

    Phil

We’ve got a new offer. It’s about Syria again. Qataris propose an attractive deal and swear that the idea is approved by Washington.
We’ll have to deliver a CW to Homs, a Soviet origin g-shell from Libya similar to those that Assad should have.
They want us to deploy our Ukrainian personnel that should speak Russian and make a video record.
Frankly, I don’t think it’s a good idea but the sums proposed are enormous. Your opinion?

    Kind regards

    David"

Sirian or Sirians may refer to:
Sirians, human adversaries in Lucky Starr and the Pirates of the Asteroids and other Lucky Starr novels by Isaac Asimov writing as Paul French
Sirians, citizens of the Sirian Empire in The Sirian Experiments by Doris Lessing
Sirians, an alien race in The Age of the Pussyfoot by Frederick Pohl
Sirians, an alien race in Wasp by Eric Frank Russell
Sirians, an alien race in Serious Sam
Sirians, alien invaders in XF5700 Mantis

Jesus fucking christ all defence companies are terrible.

How can you expect them to spell right when they are so busy cutting deals with Islamist governments to use chemical weapons on civilians in order to protect our freedom from the terrorists? What are you, some kind of sympathizer?

Why in the name of God is a British defence company sending Ukrainian personnel that speak Russian to Syria to deliver a Soviet origin gas shell from Libya similar to the ones that Assad should have? As part of a deal approved by Washington, proposed by the Qataris? That's really, really suspicious.

The Ukrainians are probably being used to pose as fake Russians to be video'd delivering gas shells to Syria... all under the watchful eye of the US of A. Is it an attempt to frame Russia/Syria so there's justification for an armed intervention? Is it a complicated deal with the Russians to allow them to deliver shells without using their own people? What the hell is going on.

Look, it might be tough for us to accept the use of chemical weaponry, but ultimately the survival of our species may depend on it.  The Sirians have technology far beyond anything we've ever seen and we need to try out everything in our arsenal to try and even the playing field.
