Yeah... but Puzzlemaker was commenting on the way the majority of people operate, not the way things actually are.  He basically agreed with the sentiment of that Shakespearean reflection, but added "but most people don't think that way."

I don't get the need for argument. Why not just call them counter-revolutionaries and be done with it? It is the term that's been used for revolts against the (old) revolutionaries since the 1700's, after all. It exist for this kind of situations.

They were trying to evacuate foreigners. And capturing an european soldiers that have an order to hold fire is dumb easy, so I guess for the "why", because they could.

I don't really think you can call him an asshole for this, though. Of course "talks" resulting in democracy and all that shit (mediate goes both ways, after all) would be better than civil war. I just don't believe (and I don't think anyone, not even Chavez, disagrees with me) it's possible - it weren't before, and it's definitely not now. It seems to me like Chavez is just trying to steal some of the light and come of as the "good guy" trying supporting the "best" way to deal with things (even though it's not a plausible turn of actions).
At least that is my impression from the very fast read-up I just did.

Lunatic dictator Chavez came out with some plan for lunatic dictator Khadaffi and the rebels.  From what I've read the rebels just said "hell no" and are going about business as usual.
