I feel like I'm listening to a badly translated train wreck.

Live realtime translation is hard.

It wouldn't surprise me if this speech was interrupted by a headshot.

Translation sounds fine to me.  But... wow, Mubarak is going on and on.  He's making this up on the fly, right?

The train wreck part is mostly Mubarak... Make that fully mubarak. Is he living in the same Universe as everyone else?

I still can't wrap my head around the fact that Mubarak is still alive after continually pulling this kind of crap.

He apologised for, but didn't promise to stop torturing people, as far as I can tell.

Mubarak is a dead man at this point. The idiot has had plenty of chances to escape with his life, and keeps wasting them.

Considering that pretty much everyone in the egyptian establishment apart from Muba said he would step aside in some manner the last 6-7 hours, and then he decided not to, this pretty much just ensured that the protests will escalate a lot. Maybe already tonight.

Seriously, this was the absolute worst move ever.

Discussion on the live stream indicates that protesters are going to try for a really big protest tomorrow to try and force Mubaraks hand.

To be honest if I was him, I'd be long gone.

He remind me a lot of Ceausescu, he's taking the same path.

The way I see it, there's about a 33% chance of Mubarak being killed/imprisoned by the protesters, a 33% chance that his son comes to Cairo and kidnaps him, a 33% chance the millitary kills/exiles him, and a 1% chance that Mubarak summons giant bats who will sweep down upon the protesters.

Even egyptian state-tv has given up the propaganda now, they've been showing footage of the protests at tahrir all day and read out corruption charges against various NDP members.
