Okay. Thank you. It's just that I get so mad when I hear all that US of A bullshit. They are not the greatest country in the world, they never were and never will be. They remain the most evil country, as they are the only country that has used nukes in anger.

Learn some history. Japan had a state religion deifying the emperor. An emperor who called on every man woman and child to give their lives for his honor. In cases where American troops overran Japanese civilian populations, they found that most of those who didn't kill themselves by sword rushing machine guns, killed themselves and their women and children with old fashioned murder-suicide.

The inevitable and necessary invasion of the Japanese mainland would have cost tens of millions of Japanese lives. Nagasaki, Hiroshima and the firebomb raids prevented that horror.

The emperor had no real power, and he did not create the Bushido-code. That was done by his military commanders. The 'Shogun' in medieval and then the generals during WWII have always held power over the emperor.

They killed thousands, then cut off Japan's balls. No other country has ever done anything so evil.

Really? I think the 10 to 30 million people that the Japanese Imperial Army slaughtered during their occupation might disagree with you.

I'm sorry, I forgot I was talking to Americans as well. Even more fanatical than the Japanese were.

Then tell me what country you are from so I can make retarded generalized and counter factual insults against your people.

I wouldn't say the USA is the most evil country behaviorally.  There are other places that try much harder to cause more intense suffering in more direct fashions.

But I would say we have the greatest success in accomplishing things I consider evil.  I'm pretty sure we've imposed more structural violence (policies resulting in starvation, effective slavery, etc) on the world than anyone else.

I also think that we have one of the worst contrasts between reputation and rhetoric vs actual behavior.  In other words, we have the most evil PR in the world.  Sure, China has effectively wiped Tiananmen Square from their history, but what has it done for them?  Those people don't need that evidence to understand their government is corrupt.  The USA doesn't deny access to such information.  They obfuscate it, which turns out to be much more effective.  Marginalize and distract.

Also, the use of nuclear weapons on Japan is far too much of a grey area for effective judgement.  There are much better examples you could have pointed to.

We really should just drop this and get the thread back on the rails. Anyone have new information about the protests?

Well you have a great palette to choose from with me, Irish ancestry, born in England and living in Australia. Aren't you lucky?

American pollicy has so far been able to secure and improve the wealth in all nations I care for. To me, giving my friends and family the ability to live a happy life weighs more then the fate of some random Chilean famrer that I a.) don't know, b.) will never meet and c.) am sure would hold exactly the same view.

Give me the opportunity to get rid of a country in some place or time, and it would be America in 1850. That's when the world started getting screwy.

c.) am sure would hold exactly the same view.

The most effortless and universal justification for anything "They'd do the same if they were me."

So then just replace the emperor's name with general Tojo's name and Nadaka's statement becomes more-or-less valid again
