What's with the flag that was being waved? I've never seen a tricolor flag exactly like that.

I'm going to assume you're talking abut the egyptian flag. Considering this is all taking place in egypt.

(it's a red white and black tricolor with an eagle in the middle)

Nope. It was a red, white, and blue tricolor, but it isn't in the French or Russian configuration. I have no idea what it is.
EDIT: I'm blind, apparently. Black looked like blue, and the eagle wasn't on the one I saw. Derp.

Also, looks like Mubarak's VP is making a speech soon. Any bets on his chances of survival?

If I were Omar Suleiman, I'd find a fast motorcycle and an unguarded border.

I feel he might be trying to win a war of attrition. The protesters will have to return to work etc eventually. If he can wait them out then the media might lose interest and he can attempt to weasel out of his "Promises".

Suleiman is very good at saying things without actually saying anything. You'd think someone in Mubarak's inner circle would be smart enough to high-tail it out of Egypt.

Did he just call out Al Jazeera? Really? And lets hold hands? What so he can cut them off?

Now the crowd are calling for Suleiman's head along with Mubarak. He has essentially tied himself to the sinking ship of the President and now the US's next best hope for a puppet is going with the rest of the corrupt government.

Apperently one of the new chants that's been showing up:

Bukra Al Asr, Nirooh 3al Qasr..Tomorrow afternoon, we march to the Palace

So I take it the bats didn't play out how he hoped they would.

Things are bad when you can't even rely on your trained Egyptian Terror Bats to stand with you.
