I see little reason to get worked up over it. A car drives over some people at high speed. Happens somewhere pretty much every hour.

Intent?  Yeah, I'll wince at a nasty accident and move on, but seeing this done on purpose produces a much deeper reaction, at least for me.
Hence me adding the line that people get blown/torn to pieces/stoned to death/mass-raped to death up on a weekly basis.

Considering it was most likely either a deliberate attempt by the Mubarak camp to discredit the US or a US  employee deciding to run down some people out of fear? anger? It might be something to get worked up over.
Or someone from the US embassy trying his best to help Mubarak lest a future "democratic" government decide to go the way of Iran/expose something he wants to keep hidden/he really doesn't like Egyptians?

Well, they're still diplomats, it's not as if they think about the people in the country they work in in any other way then statistics on their next domestic rapport.

Ok then I guess I'll add that I'm probably unusual in that I can get desensitized to the sight of gore, but not cruelty.  I feel the same every time I see it.  It never fades.  Maybe this is unique to INFPs.

Lastnight I had a pet sugar glider killed by my two other pet sugar gliders.  Poor guy had a massive, gaping wound.  And while I felt intensely sorry for the creature, the gore itself bothered me not at all.  In fact, I took some time to study it to try and determine how it happened and for the first-hand anatomy experience of getting to look at exposed muscle and cartilage which is useful as an artist.

Cool cynicism bro, but I think a more professional view of the situation might be warranted.

Or an attempt by revolutionaries to instigate further outrage, either at Mubarak or the US. We can't rule out attacks on rioters as revolutionaries trying to drum up more anti-government sentiment by fabricating "atrocities," or ID cards alleged to have been taken from attackers, "proving" their allegiance having been stolen from people completely uninvolved, and held up as examples of police corruption or somesuch.

The idea of a US Embassy employee commandeering a van and driving into a crowd of people is a bit absurd.  These diplomat jobs are fairly cushy.  They wouldn't want to put themselves in actual danger.

So let me get this straight... Everybody, or most everybody is accusing most everybody else of being responsible for stirring things up... Why does it seem like everyone is trying stir things up and pin it on the opposition? I dunno, seems like all the involved factions would stand something to gain...

I'd be suspicious of anybody violently protesting FOR a dictatorship.

Are we sure it's the military?... I went looking for more info on this, and while I found that the army was making some unpopular moves recently, I couldn't find any solid info about shooting civilians.  And that video says Wednesday night, which is several days old already.

That's true, we don't know for sure if it's the military.  The police are shooting/have shot protesters for sure, though.

At this point who knows.  People are getting shot.

By weapons we sold to them. And that they bough with the money we gave them. I'm sure it's a country that will love us for the generaion to come.
Now let's find a discourse of Sarkozy to show them. I'm sure they will love us even more after that.

Nope.  Haven't seen any protests for the past few days.  Might be more soon.
