'We', as in the West, liked Mubarrak, it was the Egyptians who didn't. Wiki
Martial law/'state of emergency' for a long time. (Since 1967?)
Corruption.
Suppression of Islamist fundamentalists.
Positive relations with Israel.
Probably other stuff we don't know about/I forgot about.

So....uh....is nobody going to point out that Morsi has been ousted? Just me? Alright then.

Huh, apparently the US is still funding the Egyptian Military...

Alright, that article is so utterly unrecognizing of context that I have to denounce it. The US gives both Israel and Egypt several billion dollars every year as part of the Camp David Accords, in order to maintain peace. This includes military aid.

Such bullshit. Israel and Egypt would have gone to war more than once if not for that agreement, and they certainly would have post-Arab Spring, judging by the Muslim Brotherhood's actions over this past year.

The entire page before my post was about how it might happen. Then it happened, and nothing.

Waiting for results, Morsi getting ousted/couped/dethroned seemed pretty apparent.  Really nothing else interesting to talk about, at least for now.
EDIT: Also the fact that it is probably in the middle of the night...

Let's hope that there isn't going to be a lot to talk about in Egypt. Some Mursi supporters attacked the military and a few got killed. But it doesn't look like it's gonna amount to a serious conflict at the moment or outright civil war.
Now it will take some time to get a new constitution written and have elections.

If they do have elections. I'm afraid the generals concluded democracy ain't for Egypt.

Of course they will have a new President.

Someone has to govern the country from a palace for next 50 or so years :P

Well, the leader of the Constitutional Court* has been sworn in as interim president.

And yes, they'll have new elections. Even if the military wants to seize power it's going to hold some semblance of elections. Then they can let those devolve in chaos, and seem like the heroes.

*IIRC, rather decent guys

Yeah, but when? If they drag their feets, they could hold for years, until the new constitution is drafted, until a new parlimaent is elected, until.. blah, blah, blah.
