Hmm... convincing all the 'enlightened' democracies to put even more money and manpower into... yet another international 'peacekeeping' organization.  A bigger one at that.  Minus 'dissenters' who can potentially contribute a nice portion to that pie. Yup.

We are the Borg. We will assimilate our culture into yours.

But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.

American cultural assimilation usually ends up being a two-way street.

All cultural assimilation usually ends up being a two-way street.
FTFY

This, however, doesn't mean it's a positive street for one or both parties.

I'm not so sure about that. There are cultures that are not very receptive to outside ideas but are open to assimilation from others.

You know what we really need right now at a time when religious tensions are high and riots are breaking out over perceived affronts to Islam?

Civilized Man. You can tell him from the savages not by his behaviour, his ethics, morals, or justice, but by how he has further advanced martial technology.

IIRC, NYC is debating whether or not to forbid political/religious advertising with city services. That someone out there even thinks we NEED advertising for issues like this makes me want to stomp a mud hole in someone's face.

If your religion can't spread from word of mouth alone God is not on your side.

Honestly that article made me very, very, very angry. Those people need to drown in their own vomit in a ditch somewhere.

In any conflict between a civilized man and Michael Savage, support the civilized man.

Good idea :P

You can probably imagine how I feel. This is protected speech, stupid and quasi-racist or not.

(Also, Gandhi really wasn't that great of a guy. Wrote racist news articles in South Africa, told Britain to surrender to the Nazis, may or may not have slept with his underage cousin, the list goes on and on...)

a few people on the comments get the idea-not every muslim is like this. in fact, it is a minority.

they get more thumbs down than up.

Its that way for all yahoo news articles. It is a festering hive of scum and villainy. Its full of hateful racist idiots, and you could have an article on apple pie and half the comments would be racial slurs, denigrating women or calling for Obama's impeachment for being a commie muzzie.

Another interesting thing is that he only turned to nonviolence after realizing that the Indians had no  chance of kicking out the British by force.
