Nah, the Emperor was a douche, it's more like those poor mook Storm Troopers are supposed to get a blanket amnesty (a decent number of them were probably threatened into it, after all).  I admit that it does take heroic self-restraint, but there's a reason why it's called, well, heroic.

Al-Jazeera has this uncanny ability to sneak a camera into just the right places: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JTRF1WSDAAA
Clear overview of the contested area (at the time) and a pretty unique shot of Gaddafi loyalists holed up in a guest house and lugging away what I guess is either ammo, incriminating paperwork or dollars.

Already outdated though. The Rixos hotel has been evacuated, and the fighting has moved further south of the city.

Not only have the rebels captured most of Tripoli, Gaddafi's hats, and Gaddafi's Standard Middle Eastern Dictator Gold Firearms (SMEDGF), but they have also captured Gaddafi's passport.

In goofy dictator news, Hugo Chavez is weighing in on Libya:

http://news.yahoo.com/chavez-libyas-tragedy-begins-gadhafis-fall-183545238.html

Oddly enough, I happen to agree with him that "the tragedy in Libya is just beginning" but not because Gadhafi was a great guy.

Does someone know why we must not act in Syria?
Everyone and his mother is saying it, but I have no clue why.

Perhaps something to do with its southern border neighbor Lebanon and Israel. And one of them might have nukes?

Don't think so. It seems to have something to do with the internal politics of the things.
Like, bombing the gov forces would not have the same effect as in Lybia.
I saw enough reputable person say it to take it seriously, but I'd like to know why.

I am just joking with the nukes (partial), but one of the reason really has something to do with geopolitical situation around Syria (Iran etc.). Along with the internal religious conflict nature in that region and in Syria (Alawi and Sunni). And it's not just a regime of one dictator. When escalating the religious/culture conflicts will be a gunpowder cake to its flammable surrounding regions. (So close to another already hot pot of Israel-Lebanon near by is very dangerous)

Also, it's not a civil war yet. And we won't get UN approval this time.

The Syrian rebels don't have a government or a proper army. The only thing that would work woulds be ground troops.

I heard he died months ago. Maybe he was in hiding and they thought he was dead?
