A question about Cave Crocodiles
« on: January 27, 2011, 07:28:00 pm »

So a siege just arrived with the siege leader riding a cave crocodile (a first for me, its always jabberers and voracious cave crawlers) and it was immediately caught along with about 4 dozen assorted soldiers including the monarch/general/whomever riding the crocodile. I had an arena set up so I could shoot the prisoners for practice, but realized it would simply take too much micromanagment to kill all of them while constantly reloading with my archers. So, I re-fitted the arena as a drowning tank.

My question is, if I fill up the whole arena drowning tank with 7/7 water (the room is only 1 z-level, no high ceilings in this battleground) will the crocodile lose air and drown in the water, or will it be perfectly fine in a room full with water?

Cave crocodiles have [AMPHIBIOUS], which means they don't drown in water or in air.

Will amphibious creatures drown in magma if Temperature is turned off?

Yep.  Only creatures who don't need to breathe won't drown in magma.

While adding magma to anything will make it dwarfy, adding the word "magma" to your post does not necessarily make it funny.
