None of your beeswax! :D okay, really I want beeswax

Beeswax (or other food grade wax) has lot's of current in game uses!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beeswax

highlights from wikipedia:

  • Beeswax is used as a coating for cheese, to protect the food as it ages
  • Beeswax is an ingredient in surgical bone wax (medical stuff!)
  • As a component of modelling waxes (could be used to make toy trade goods)
  • ...has been used as a modeling material, to create sculpture and jewelry molds (perhaps reactions with beeswax produce multiple sculptures/jewelry for the same amount of metal to represent lost wax casting)
  • In the Middle Ages beeswax was considered valuable enough to become a form of currency (tell me that's not awesome!)
  • Used in bow making
I think that's enough of a list to warrant adding it in, then we can make the appropriate reactions for it's use.

Somebody in http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=75785.msg1913513#msg1913513 was also talking about this, and mentioned wax tablets  - that might be kind of cool as a way of requiring actual materials for the record-keeper in order to create and upkeep accurate records (wax tablets, clay tablets, papyrus, etc.)

Surgical uses, however, are a new one for me. I'd love to see that.
